About Us

Serencroft Care Homes is an independent care provider operating five residential and nursing homes across England, including Gable Court in Romford. We are CQC-regulated and B Corp certified, and we work in partnership with NHS commissioners and local universities to deliver high-quality, person-centred care. We are looking for an experienced, values-led Home Manager to lead Gable Court and build on its position as a safe, high-quality home for residents and a great place to work for staff.

The Role

As Home Manager, you will hold overall responsibility for the day-to-day leadership, operational performance and quality of care at Gable Court, acting as the home's CQC Registered Manager. You'll lead a multidisciplinary team, manage the home's budget and resources, and be the driving force behind a culture of safe, compassionate, person-centred care — working closely with residents, families, commissioners and the wider Serencroft leadership team.

Key Responsibilities

•  Act as the home's CQC Registered Manager, holding responsibility for regulatory compliance and statutory notifications

•  Lead, motivate and develop the home's staff team, including recruitment, supervision, appraisal and performance management

•  Ensure compliance with CQC fundamental standards and all relevant health and social care legislation

•  Drive continuous improvement in care quality and safety, working towards and maintaining strong CQC ratings

•  Manage the home's budget, occupancy and resources effectively

•  Oversee care planning, risk assessment and safeguarding practices across the home

•  Build and maintain strong relationships with residents, families, NHS commissioners, local authorities and other stakeholders

•  Lead on internal audits, external inspections and quality assurance processes

•  Champion Serencroft's values and B Corp commitments in the day-to-day running of the home

•  Report regularly to the senior leadership team on performance, quality and compliance

What We're Looking For

•  Proven experience as a Registered Manager within a CQC-regulated care or nursing home — essential

•  NVQ/QCF Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care (or working towards equivalent qualification)

•  Track record of leading a care home to strong CQC outcomes

•  Strong working knowledge of CQC regulations, safeguarding practices and relevant health and social care legislation

•  Excellent leadership, communication and people-management skills

•  Right to work in the UK

•  Willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS check
