My aunt was resident in this care home from 2022 until her death on 8th June 2026. I used to visit her regulalry and was always impressed with the level of care and attention that she received from ALL of the staff, visit especially from Joy and Christin, who both took a special interest in her and built up a lovely rapport between them and my aunt, and I know that she loved them both. I would thoroughly recommend this establishment to anybody looking for a reputable and efficient care home, with its friendly atmosphere, and caring approach, and will always be grateful that my aunt spent her final days in the care of wonderful people.

My mother was transferred to the home from the hospital. She has been here for 2 weeks, and the staff has been excellent. The care they have given to my mother is excellent. She liked it here and did not want to come home. Thank you.

Review from L S (Relative of Resident) published on 12 February 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
Ground floor seems nice, seems to be a regular programme of activities. Just hope that your relative is down there. Unfortunately, residents on upper floors are left in bed all day with just their four walls and an incessant TV to look at. It must be understaffed as noone has time to talk to residents or their relatives let alone actually pay attention to their needs. No ability to even make a cup of tea for your relative or yourself.
No one says hello to me when I visit and I can spend several hours in the room with my relative without seeing any staff coming in, even though they are supposed to regularly move and feed them. I could easily walk into any room and abuse or steal from other residents as doors are open and noone speaks to you.

I've had relatives in other cares homes outside of london and unfortunately, this place seems more like a prison in comparism

Review from Susan C (Daughter of Resident) published on 16 January 2025 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

The new manager is really lovely. Had a meeting with him yesterday relating to my mum, along with the clinical lead and they were both really lovely, friendly and helpful. All the staff here that I've dealt with have always been very friendly, helpful, informative and are excellent. Weekend access can be challenging (as there is no weekend receptionist) but apart from that, Mum is very well looked after and safe here. Gable Court is kept very well clean and it is a nice care home. It is very difficult to get Mum to join in activities downstairs in the lounge, so unable to comment on the activities here, but the staff do try and persuade her to go down. Glad Mum is safe and well looked after here.

Reply from Louis Rouxelin, Home Manager at Gable Court Care Home

Dear Susan, thank you for your kind feedback. We are delighted to hear about your positive experience with our team and the care your mother receives at Gable Court. My mother returned from a short hospital visit to the home but was still feeling quite unwell and exhausted. She didn't want to eat, drink or talk. The carer in question was extremely kind to my mum, spending time with her, reassuring her and comforting her. She encouraged her to ear a little and drink some water. I would like to this carer to be recognised for her extremely kind and caring attitude.

Nursing care team are proactive in the management of relative healthcare needs. Care staff are polite and sympathetic to my aunt's needs and management staff are very facilitative with health care provider interactions. During recent periods of hospitalisation the nursing staff have been actively engaged regarding admission discharge and have kept us as relatives fully informed which was highly appreciated.

Visior support at weekends could be improved, when staffing levels are lower, it can be challenging to find assistance eg to answer the door, answer questions, get access to additional seating. However support for the residents is still strong.

Gable Court was the only nursing home that would accept my father due to his complex needs assessment. We were extremely grateful that they were able to put 1:1 24-hour care in place. Management and staff were accommodating and helped to ease some of our concerns. My father had very good 1:1 care and the staff worked extremely hard. He was treated with respect despite some challenging behaviours. The staff and management were fully supportive to us as a family in distress which we appreciated so much.

I attended the summer garden party at Gable Court on the 26th of August. It was clear to see that a lot of thought had gone into planning this event. Having brought down to the garden a number of residents, it began to rain! I was very impressed with how quickly residents were brought into the shelter of the ground floor communal lounge. There then followed a wonderful afternoon of entertainment with drinks and food, some of which had been prepared by staff, Hats off to the staff for a wonderful event!
