Gable Court took very good care of my grandad in his last days.
He was comfortable and treated with dignity.
Nothing was too much to ask in his final days.
The staff are all so lovely and smiley.
It’s so lovely there, so calming and quiet.
They do lots of activities also with the residents.
I’m
glad I choose Gable Court for both my grandparents.

Absolutely no problems with the care home. All of the staff always have time to speak to Mum. Would have no issues recommending the home if asked. Nothing seems to have been a problem for the staff, all very helpful and patient.

Looks nice but very unfriendly senior staff. Management is quite good at liaising with relatives. Some senior staff members are all about protecting their job without actually doing their job and very hostile to visiting families.
Mostly about how exterior presentation.
At first glance, looks good
but care staff/"nurses" certainly need more training.
Reply from Nazima Choudhury, Deputy Manager at Gable Court Care HomeWe are very sorry to hear your overall customer dissatisfaction and I will be making contact with this relative to discuss further.

The senior management team continue to work in partnership with relatives and service users, we are very open to discussions and suggestions for improvement.

We encourage and promote a culture where we learn from past mistakes and are constantly striving on improving the service we deliver. As such we encourage feedback, be it positive or negative, to see what people’s experiences are, this can help us identify any shortfalls and will inform us of any action and or improvements that we need to address.

The senior management team, feel it is vital that everyone is fully involved and as such, I have taken this to the whole team. This is so we can all fully reflect in a no blame culture of how we could have done things differently or if there are any lessons learnt from the feedback and what we can do to improve certain areas.

We feel we want to make service users and families aware that they are welcomed to give feedback whenever they feel that it is necessary, as it is vital we work in partnership in their loved ones care.

As a regular visitor to Gable Court I have always been made welcome. Every member of staff has the residents' care at heart. They are kind and helpful in their duties and are ready to make residents comfortable when needed. Food is good and well presented. Activities and entertainment are second to
none. Medication is taken very seriously and I am happy that my wife is well cared for.

My father became a resident in early February 2018. He was confined to bed at this stage and needed nursing care. Sadly he died two weeks after moving in. In those two weeks, my mother and I were very impressed and happy with the care he received. He was treated with kindness and dignity and he was
medically well supported. The team working with the home were also very supportive of the family. We felt very content that he was made as comfortable as possible under the circumstances. A big thank you to all the staff who cared for him and us.

My mother has been a resident now for over a year. She is very happy living at the home. The home is etremely clean and comfortable and always kept to a very high standard. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff who are very caring and considerate. There are a variety of activities for the residents
to choose from, including visits outside of the home. I am very happy knowing that my mother is being looked after and is content.

I would like to say that since my mum has been cared for in your home I am astonished in the difference in her, she has become happy and more alert. She is eating well with the help of the nurses/care workers.
We have not had any sudden call for deteriorating health in fact quite the opposite as at
91 she has flourished since being cared for here. I cannot thank the staff for their time, support, compassion and dignity they give to my mum. I am overwhelmed with the level of care from every member of staff.
Reply from Jayne Duck, Customer services administrator at Gable Court Care HomeThank you for your review. I'm so glad to hear that your mum is happy and that she is enjoying the food. I hope that she continues to flourish in our care. Thank you for your kind and lovely words about our staff, it is the little things that do make all the difference.

Current Review Score: 9.3 (9.328)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.3 (9.328) out of 10 for Gable Court Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.5 out of 5 from 14 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.8 out of 5 from 13 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.503 for Gable Court Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (113 Excellents x 5) + (38 Goods x 4) + (5 Satisfactorys x 3) + (2 Poors x 2) + (7 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 165 Ratings = 4.503
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.825 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Gable Court Care Home is based on 13 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.825
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 50 registered maximum number of service users is 10, which has been reached with 13 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
