My friend has been in this care home for six months and sadly passed away there in January of 2026. Her care from her entering has been excellent and every single member of staff has shown kindness and care right up until the day she passed. The nursing staff, the cleaning staff and the chef have been
amazing and always treated my friend and her friends and family with compassion and respect. A truly great home.
Reply from Jiji Saju, Manager at Plane Tree CourtDear Janice,
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback following the passing of your friend. We offer our sincere condolences to you, your friends and your family during this difficult time.
We are grateful for your kind words regarding the care and support your friend received during her six months with us. It is reassuring to know that our nursing team, cleaning staff and kitchen staff were able to provide compassion, dignity and respect throughout her stay, and especially in her final days. Your acknowledgement of their efforts means a great deal to everyone at the home.
We remain committed to delivering high standards of care and creating a supportive environment for all residents and their loved ones. Thank you once again for your thoughtful review.

My Dad arrived at Plane Tree Court via 7 weeks in hospital, and is receiving nursing care. We had viewed Plane Tree amongst others, prior to his move and wanted him to come here.
I had read the reviews and I will add this
The staff are absolutely amazing, they are all professional, kind and caring.
It is clear they are all well suited to their roles, and this has made us as a family so comfortable knowing that my dad is being well cared for
The rooms all seem of a very good standard, with good recreational areas for residents to move to as and when they choose.
The building is well laid out and set within lovely well kept grounds, which in summer months will be great for a trip round the gardens for him.
Thanks to all the staff, Gigi the manager and Tony the assistant manager , who has a great understanding of patients needs.
I would without hesitation recommended Plane Tree

My dad & family had the great experience with the staff at Hayes Cottsge.
From dad's first day to his last.
They kept his dignity at all times.
They made family welcome anytime day or night.
Everything was with a personal touch from speaking on the phone to the visits.
Most importantly my

My dad moved in to Cherryfield in January 2025. Since being there he has thrived, as best he can, considering the conditions he is living with. The home isn't too large, with perhaps up to 25 or so bedrooms. This means that all the staff know my dad, not just as a resident but as the person we know
It also means that all the staff know me and all of my family members too, as we do them.
Their care feels very person centred and they evidently have a close and productive working relationships with others involved in my dad's care, especially the local GP practice who speak very highly off them.
My dad is living with two types of dementia but responds well to the care packages in place. His appetite has improved, he's gained weight, he looks better in himself and he is more engaged with other people. My dad, with his current state of mind, thinks that all the staff there are his employees, and they play along with that when that's appropriate
Reply from Abhishek Kumar, Support Manager at Cherryfield HouseThank you for sharing such a thoughtful review. Just really bad food and the staff said it will get better however it's haven't
And the carers take too long to get to the people who need the care and when staff get "punishment" it will change for a day but the go back to how it was and the staff like talking to each other instead of doing there
jobs and when you try to talk to the head nurse or the manager the staff will take the complaint on you and or your family in the care home.
And my Dad has been in the care home for a year now but when he first when into the care home the managers never introduced themselves to us.
And they inconsistently move staff around so when the people in the care home needs they're baths or showers they are left with people they don't know or don't have a bond because they were moved upstairs for no real reason and that can leave people feeling uncomfortable when having a shower or bath.
Reply from MONICA-SORINA Rasura, Home Manager at Hayes Cottage Nursing HomeThank you for sharing your feedback. I am very sorry to hear that you feel this way and want to assure you that your concerns are taken seriously. Our priority is always to provide safe, high-quality, and person-centered care.

However, I would also welcome the opportunity to speak with you personally so that we can work together to resolve any outstanding matters. My door is always open, and you are welcome to contact me by phone or email at any time.

My dad has been in this care home since January 2025. I feel that my dad's experience has been so positive, all the staff are highly professional and have enabled my dad to settle into the home seamlessly. The care home is very accommodating and have helped us as a family to transition from dad being
at home to dad being in care. Sam has made herself available to answer questions and elevate any concerns. questions. Sam and the staff have been extremely supportive to both my dad and our needs. I love the flexibility of visiting hours and especially love the transparency of the care and routines that my dad experiences. I can see that my dad is settled and really happy. When I was looking for a care home for my father, Hayes Cottage stood out from the others immediately. The staff member who showed us round was so warm and friendly that I knew it was the right place for dad. I've met many staff since then and they have all lived up to my first impression. Accepting
that a parent needs to move into residential care is incredibly difficult and having them surrounded by staff who are friendly, professional and understand what you're going through really does make that decision easier.
Dad was really quite poorly when he came to Hayes Cottage but the care he's received has helped him to improve hugely. He takes part in all the activities he's able to, and it has been lovely to see his smiling face among the photos on the noticeboard each month.
All the staff - carers, nurses, activity staff, admin and management - genuinely care. That, more than anything, is why I picked Hayes Cottage, and why I'm so grateful. Thank you!

I have found the staff to be friendly and caring. The home was recommended by the hospital as being best suited to the resident's needs and so for most parts that has been the case. However as a private care home I would expect a higher level of attention to the state of her room. The carpet and the
bedding are 'tired'. I am pleased with the nursing care received and the fact that the manager has a detailed knowledge of the resident and her needs. The resident feels safe and cared for and the family are confident that she is secure and well supported.

Mum had 10 days respite  in Plane Tree Court earlier in the summer and was very comfortable.
Now mum has moved in as a permanent resident.
It's been a difficult time for us as a family making the decision but it's definitely been worth it. Mum is  definitely benefiting from being in Plane Tree I
think her interaction with staff and residents is giving her confidence.
The staff are wonderful from the head  chef to every care giver.
The room is lovely and the whole home is very clean and fresh.
More than anything though the atmosphere is warm and friendly.
Everyone is treated with dignity. The care and support is equal from staff and management. The food is good mum is eating more and taking fluids more often than usual.

Thanks so much to all the staff at Plane Tree.

Plane Tree Manor the building and rooms are quite dated but I can see work is being done, I had my reservations at first, but the staff, the chef, everyone that works there are so friendly and so kind to all the residents, to me that was the most important thing. looked after my dads needs so well even cooking food he enjoyed with being Chinese, chef did a great job. Lovely staff always a smile although a difficult job - well done to all.

After my dad's first 3 days at the care home, we knew it would not be for long as he was end of life, and I was allowed to stay with my dad 24 hours a day, which I know meant a lot to him and especially to me.
