Woodlands Care Home

My mum came in to Woodlands two months ago for full time care with advanced dementia and Alzheimer's. We could not have wished for a better transition. ALL staff from the nurses, the care team, the activities team, the administration team, the house keeping team, the kitchen staff etc have been attentive and supportive and have all taken the time to get to know mum in such a short space of time. Mum has a beautiful room and is so comfortable already. It's wonderful that mum now has round the clock care and not only that, it's fantastic to see her engaging and participating in activities. The activities team also spend time with mum on a 1:1 basis, sharing her photographs and chatting with her about things that are (were) of interest to her! We had so many worries about moving mum to full residential care, but I only wish we had done it sooner. I really enjoy visiting and spending time, not only with mum but with the staff, the activities team as well as the other residents and families

My mum has dementia has never been a sociable person and I was concerned about how she would adapt to moving into a care home after a fall. I need not have worried. She now joins in some activities and is content.

They also take the time to ask if I am satisfied with care and cleaning etc!!

My wife who is suffering from Alzheimer's Disease was admitted to the home in May 2026 and has been treated with extreme courtesy and kindness. The staff seem alert to my wife's needs and those of other residents and make visitors feel welcome. The only reason I haven't given a 5-star rating is the cost!

Woodlands is an amazing home. Each and every staff member cares about the residents. They always ask if we are happy with mums care, the condition of her room and clothing. The nursing staff are kind, supportive and approachable. The carers are so lovely with the residents, patient, kind and understanding. I would wholeheartedly recommend this home.

Our family member is getting adequate care and seems generally content despite her worsening condition. Staff are pleasant and friendly. We are notified of incidents in a timely manner. Food seems very good and our family member enjoys the activities put on for residents.

I am entirely satisfied with all aspects of my wife's care. At all times she is neatly attired and she is calm and relaxed. While her speech abilities are limited the staff do interact in a gentle manner. When asked the staff inform me of her current attitude and health status. If staff have concerns, such as a minor injury they immediately inform me at home.

I am very pleased to see that my mother receives a lot of attention and care from the staff. They all appear very aware of her current health and abilities, and are very encouraging and supportive. I would like to thank everyone for also making time to answer any questions that I have about her care.

Writing to comment on th repetative menus and portion sizes. Nothing more to add. Very boring being served the same tea week in week out. , especially when the other option is either a cheese, ham, egg or tuna sandwich.

My parents have both been well looked after in Woodlands. The nurses, carers, housekeeping, laundry staff and everyone who works there is kind and thoughful.

The staff genuinely care for mum which is the main thing you want from a care home. There are plenty of activities to get involved with and residents are encouraged to leave their rooms as often as possible. Rooms are comfortable, it is clean and well designed. Definitely recommend.

My Dad was previously in two care homes that were shocking, Woodlands is such a contrast. My lovely Dad has Parkinson's and Dementia so needs nursing care as can no longer walk. He has been here now for 6 months and I hope he can remain here for the time he has left. The staff go over and above with their care. They look after all residents so well and generally care about them. Everywhere is clean. The bedrooms are really nice and the food is lovely and very varied. I cannot praise this Care Home enough. All staff are lovely and helpful, from the admin staff to the cleaners. I love visiting my Dad here as there is a really nice atmosphere and everyone is like family.

My father moved into Woodlands in February 2024. The staff are extremely kind and very helpful. They show great respect to my 93-year-old father. I would recommend Woodlands because they provide such a high level of care.

I can only say positive comments about Woodlands. The staff are caring and professional, this includes domestic workers, nurses, carers and the office staff. All staff have treated my mum with care and dignity. They are considerate of myself and my family members. The rooms are kept clean and tidy and are comfortably furnished. It gives me great comfort that my mom is staying and receiving care is a peaceful environment to an outstanding level. Thank you.

The staff are always very kind, supportive and patient with my elderly parents and the home is always spotlessly clean.

The staff from Woodlands and all the different teams are so polite, caring and considerate. I couldn't have asked for better treatment for my mum. End-of-life care is superb - my mum said it is like family all so friendly. They treat her with respect and dignity and obviously follow all the policies, procedures etc. The manager is a good leader for staff and very approachable as the nursing team, cleaners, laundry, kitchen and admin plus maintenance team. One word - Exemplary! Ward Seniors too!

Over the 2 months, we have found that all the dementia nursing and the administrative staff, seemingly always friendly and smiling, have provided excellent caring services for my wife. She settled into Woodlands very quickly, without any problem. Visiting is free and easy with no restriction and there is ample car parking. The surroundings are pleasantly rural. Any particular requirements received quick positive responses. My only slight criticism is that the rooms are fairly small, although they do have ample storage space. We did have to supply and install our own TV system. I thoroughly recommend Woodlands to any potential enquiries

I'm very pleased with the care my mum has had at Woodlands. There will always challenges caring for folk with dementia but Mum is not noticeably agitated and the staff are attentive and familiar with Mum. I have come to know the staff by sight and name. Mum is treated with dignity and respect to my knowledge and there is an awareness of what Mum enjoys and gives her peace.

Efficient, kind, caring, lovely staff go above and beyond taking care of residents. Food is excellent. Takes stress off me knowing my husband is getting one-to-one care.
