I was extremely happy with the care and kindness given to my mother during the last few weeks of her life at Woodlands. It was so nice to visit her there and to see how well she was being looked after. The staff were all very pleasant. I could not have hoped for more.

My mother was a resident at Woodlands Care Centre for 18 months and since passed away. I decided to become a volunteer as I had established a good relationship with staff, residents and families and the home have been so caring and compassionate with myself, my mother and families. I felt I wanted to give some care, support and kindness back to the home which had supported me over the time my mum was a resident. My mum was a Christian and she enjoyed the church services, sing-a-long and dances. The staff are exceptional people, dedicated, hardworking and go the extra mile to move the home to the wonderful place it is.

When I knew my sister had to go into a care home, I was very concerned knowing she was always against this.

It took her a few weeks to settle in but your carers were so helpful and understanding that it was amazing how happy she has become. Also, your social activities are a great help but most of all your staff are like family to her.

My wife was a resident for 4 years until she passed away last June. I have been a volunteer for 4 years and volunteer most days. I feel that it is an excellent care home and have had no concerns over my wife's care whilst she was in the home. Since becoming a volunteer, which I enjoy very much, it has become a major part of my life. I still see that the care is of a very high standard. I am provided with a lunch which I look forward to. I help out with activities which include playing my saxophone to residents, trips out, baking demonstrations, slide shows, archery talk and demonstration, sing-a-long and I produce the newsletter.

Mum has been a resident for nearly 2 years. I am very happy with the care. Mum is treated with respect and love and I have no worries.

Cleanliness and hygiene is excellent and it's a pleasure to be in the building. They have a high standard of décor, security is good, food is of a high standard, appetising and well presented with a good choice of meals. For the residents, activities are many of a high standard and are age appropriate. The activities team and all staff are pleasant and respectful and it's a joy to visit mum and see the staff. All departments work well and team work is excellent.

From when Mum first came to Woodlands, the staff and management made all the family welcome, comfortable and relaxed. It's very much a family atmosphere and a home from home. With the added benefit of care and security. The carers are always prepared to go above and beyond. Activities and volunteers are great and good fun and a good variety. Music is a special favourite, the quizzes are great and involve all the families. We are very happy with Woodlands.

My husband is well cared for at Woodlands Care Centre. He has a lovely room. The staff are very caring and look after my husband's needs. I feel he is in a very safe place. He can live quite independently but always has someone he can go and look after him if needed.

The staff are friendly, helpful and approachable and mom is well looked after and enjoys spending time with the staff.

Activities are fun. Mum especially enjoys the animal visits the most including exotic pets, baby lamb visits, dogs, cats and bunny rabbits. Woodlands has a befriender who spends time with mom on a weekly basis. The atmosphere is homely and welcoming and all the family enjoy spending time at Woodlands. All the family visit on a daily basis and know the home well.

Woodlands was dad's third care home, we wanted a home closer to us and his needs were becoming more challenging, he had began to wander, so we needed a home that was secure but also warm and loving.
I don't believe we could have found a better place.
Dad spent his last 10 months at Woodlands. He was cared for by a team of the most wonderful carers you could hope to meet. They could not have done more to help him or us.

Communication throughout was easy - the staff responded quickly and with patience and love.

My sister and I looked at several care homes before we found Woodlands. Our father was suffering from dementia but was still aware of his surroundings and still attempting to socialise. In Woodlands we found a clean, pleasant home with caring staff who encouraged Dad to make the most of the few months he had left. It was not only the wonderful staff that impressed us but also the volunteers, singers, musicians, chaplains etc. Every afternoon there was some form of activity or entertainment, Dad often thought he was on holiday or on a cruise.

My wife is being well looked after regarding her dementia illness.
My wife has not used her legs in order to walk for the last 8 months and is spending every day in her recliner chair.

She is currently getting more tired and spending half her daily time having extra bed rest. We are thankful to the home that my wife is still alive. (Being maintained by loving care).

My mother was cared for at Woodlands between 2012 and 2016. Throughout her time there she was well cared for and in her final week I could not have wished for more kind and caring service. Staff are approachable and friendly and the regular staff understand my mother and her needs very well. I would happily recommend Woodlands for anyone looking for care for an elderly parent in my case, one with Alzheimer's.
