Woodlands provides residential, nursing, dementia, palliative and short-stay care for up to 80 residents in a peaceful, purpose-built home in Poynton, Cheshire.

Set just a short walk from local shops, cafés, churches and the Middlewood Way, the home is surrounded by mature trees and green spaces that offer a calm, tucked-away feel while remaining connected to village life. The secure, gated setting includes ample parking for visitors and supports a strong sense of independence for residents.

Bedrooms are all en-suite and fully furnished, with communal areas that include open-plan lounges, a multi-faith reflection space, salon, and dementia-friendly suites. Residents living with dementia benefit from tailored sensory activities, reminiscence resources and music therapy sessions.

Dining is central to daily life, with fresh meals made in-house. Menus are shaped by resident feedback and include traditional favourites, international dishes, and themed celebrations. My one complaint is that in the morning there are only two carers getting residents up and dressed and doing a very good job.
There is one carer in the dining room and when my husband, who is in a wheelchair, finishes his breakfast we have to wait sometimes quite a while for someone to take him to
the toilet. I do feel they are understaffed at that time in the morning. This to me can be quite distressing.

I have spoken to many relatives during the last three and a half years. Without exception, they rate general nursing, end of life care, dementia care as placing Woodlands MHA in top echelons of care homes.
The attention to residents dignity, food preferences and cleanliness (both household and laundry)
has been amazing.

In our opinion, Woodlands is by far the best care home in the area. The staff are excellent and very caring. The food is always a good standard the music therapy on a Thursday had been very well received.

My husband was welcomed onto Beeches Unit in early December 2017. He died peacefully during his sleep on 1 March 2019. He was always treated with love, care and dignity by all the nursing staff. All our family was made welcome on every visit - we became part of the Woodland's Christian family. We could
not have wished for a more caring and compassionate environment for our loved one. Friendships were forged between carers and the whole family. We cannot speak too highly of the way in which his quality of life was maintained until the end. All our friends commented on the loving and caring environment within Woodlands, which is a credit to both nursing staff and management.

My Mother received excellent care during her stay at Woodlands. Her Dementia was quite advanced and the team were always sensitive to her needs. There were sometimes not enough carers around and they had minimal time to sit with Mum. Sadly the food also could have been better. Sandwiches are an easy
option overused.

I would definitely recommend Woodlands Care Centre. It is a very special place with very special staff who showed love and understanding to my mother. Always treating her with dignity, consideration and much kindness. This extended to myself and my family too. I can never thank them all enough.

My Mother was accepted as a resident on November 2nd, 2017. She had been in hospital after largely being independent. She died on 17th April 2018 but Woodlands was a comfortable, caring and homely place for her to spend the last 6 months of her life. She became increasingly dependant on the love and
care of nursing staff and carers. The staff were professional but also became friends. They always took the necessary time to be with her and see to her various needs. We can not speak too highly of the way in which they maintained her quality of life, until the end.

Admission of my aunt to Woodlands took a while to finalise through no fault of their own, but during this time the staff showed patience and understanding when dealing with my many queries. I felt reassured that my decision to accept the room on offer was the best for my aunt.
When she was finally
admitted, the care shown to her and even to ourselves, was beyond our expectations and Woodlands soon felt like home. We were kept informed of any changes, no matter how small, and this enhanced our confidence in the staff at all levels. A happy place, we felt.

I cannot praise Woodlands Care Centre highly enough. The centre care for my father in his final years. I was enormously impressed by the genuine care shown by all staff from management through to nursing staff. The diligence and record keeping is outstanding providing assurance that your relative is
received the very highest standards of care 24/7 and 345 days a year. I would recommend to anyone considering a care home placement.

My father has found a new home full of happy caring people that always sort my father's needs which include full nursing. He is blind and deaf and 95 years old. I have been looking after my father for the last two years so it means a lot to see him safe with people that care day and night. I can now

My mother was a resident at Woodlands Care Centre for 18 months and since passed away. I decided to become a volunteer as I had established a good relationship with staff, residents and families and the home have been so caring and compassionate with myself, my mother and families. I felt I wanted to
give some care, support and kindness back to the home which had supported me over the time my mum was a resident. My mum was a Christian and she enjoyed the church services, sing-a-long and dances. The staff are exceptional people, dedicated, hardworking and go the extra mile to move the home to the wonderful place it is.
