Standard and quality of this home is very high. Staff are extremely caring and make my wife feel welcome and very secure. Good ambience created by good management and knowledge of dementia.

Personal care by female staff can be an issue.
General staffing levels can be an issue - the lounge can be left unattended for too long.

Frequent use of agency staff, unfamiliarity can be an issue.

Upon admission, in February 2019 Woodlands welcomed my Mum like one of the family and this welcome was extended to all relatives and friends. All staff, from managers to carers to activities coordinators know the residents well and treat them as individuals and with dignity. The care shines through and gives me confidence that Mum is safe in this environment. I would highly recommend this care home (and frequently do so!).

My wife has been a resident for the past two months and seems to have settled down well, although she still would like to return home.

The activities are arranged every weekday and although she does not join in every time. The fact that many others do show a good caring home.

My one complaint is that in the morning there are only two carers getting residents up and dressed and doing a very good job.

There is one carer in the dining room and when my husband, who is in a wheelchair, finishes his breakfast we have to wait sometimes quite a while for someone to take him to the toilet. I do feel they are understaffed at that time in the morning. This to me can be quite distressing.

I have spoken to many relatives during the last three and a half years. Without exception, they rate general nursing, end of life care, dementia care as placing Woodlands MHA in top echelons of care homes.

The attention to residents dignity, food preferences and cleanliness (both household and laundry) has been amazing.

In our opinion, Woodlands is by far the best care home in the area. The staff are excellent and very caring. The food is always a good standard the music therapy on a Thursday had been very well received.

My husband was welcomed onto Beeches Unit in early December 2017. He died peacefully during his sleep on 1 March 2019. He was always treated with love, care and dignity by all the nursing staff. All our family was made welcome on every visit - we became part of the Woodland's Christian family. We could not have wished for a more caring and compassionate environment for our loved one. Friendships were forged between carers and the whole family. We cannot speak too highly of the way in which his quality of life was maintained until the end. All our friends commented on the loving and caring environment within Woodlands, which is a credit to both nursing staff and management.

My Mother received excellent care during her stay at Woodlands. Her Dementia was quite advanced and the team were always sensitive to her needs. There were sometimes not enough carers around and they had minimal time to sit with Mum. Sadly the food also could have been better. Sandwiches are an easy option overused.

I would definitely recommend Woodlands Care Centre. It is a very special place with very special staff who showed love and understanding to my mother. Always treating her with dignity, consideration and much kindness. This extended to myself and my family too. I can never thank them all enough.

My Mother was accepted as a resident on November 2nd, 2017. She had been in hospital after largely being independent. She died on 17th April 2018 but Woodlands was a comfortable, caring and homely place for her to spend the last 6 months of her life. She became increasingly dependant on the love and care of nursing staff and carers. The staff were professional but also became friends. They always took the necessary time to be with her and see to her various needs. We can not speak too highly of the way in which they maintained her quality of life, until the end.

Admission of my aunt to Woodlands took a while to finalise through no fault of their own, but during this time the staff showed patience and understanding when dealing with my many queries. I felt reassured that my decision to accept the room on offer was the best for my aunt.

When she was finally admitted, the care shown to her and even to ourselves, was beyond our expectations and Woodlands soon felt like home. We were kept informed of any changes, no matter how small, and this enhanced our confidence in the staff at all levels. A happy place, we felt.

Our opinion of Woodlands care home at Poynton is exemplary.
My brother ended the last days of his life, never having been cared for so well and was at his happiest for years.
Treated with compassion and dignity by all members of staff, my brother was happy until the final days of his life.

I cannot express my gratitude to management and staff.

I cannot praise Woodlands Care Centre highly enough. The centre care for my father in his final years. I was enormously impressed by the genuine care shown by all staff from management through to nursing staff. The diligence and record keeping is outstanding providing assurance that your relative is received the very highest standards of care 24/7 and 345 days a year. I would recommend to anyone considering a care home placement.

My father has found a new home full of happy caring people that always sort my father's needs which include full nursing. He is blind and deaf and 95 years old. I have been looking after my father for the last two years so it means a lot to see him safe with people that care day and night. I can now visit and have the relationship I want knowing he is safe and happy.
