Woodlands provides residential, nursing, dementia, palliative and short-stay care for up to 80 residents in a peaceful, purpose-built home in Poynton, Cheshire.

Set just a short walk from local shops, cafés, churches and the Middlewood Way, the home is surrounded by mature trees and green spaces that offer a calm, tucked-away feel while remaining connected to village life. The secure, gated setting includes ample parking for visitors and supports a strong sense of independence for residents.

Bedrooms are all en-suite and fully furnished, with communal areas that include open-plan lounges, a multi-faith reflection space, salon, and dementia-friendly suites. Residents living with dementia benefit from tailored sensory activities, reminiscence resources and music therapy sessions.

Since moving to Woodlands in January 2020 my father’s health has visibly improved. On my recent visit he was very well and looked as well as he did 7 years ago.
I ascribe this to the outstanding care he receives from all the staff at Woodlands.

My sister has been a resident with you since 2013, she passed away recently but the family are so impressed by all the care she has received over many years. The love and respect shown as she slowly deteriorated were the best. We cannot thank all the staff we have met over 7 years and will always be

When you walk into Woodlands you are met with an immediate sense of warmth that transcends throughout the home. In these uncertain times, the carers and nurses have become extended members of our family who we trust completely. They offer love, laughter and brighten the days of all the residents. Nothing
is too much trouble. I am so happy with the support and attention my mother receives. I wouldn't want her to be anywhere else. Thank you all.

My Auntie has been cared for here for 7 years. I live in Australia and I was able to visit in December 2017 - as a nurse, just like my Auntie I am so grateful for the care delivered here. I cannot rate highly enough the care given, the attention to dignity and value placed on a person's life even when
they have lost so much to dementia. As she is now in her final days I am choosing to remember the Aunt I remember of my childhood but will forever be grateful to the nurses and carers who have come to know her in recent years and supported her sister, my mum and husband during a difficult time. Thank you from one nurse to you all.

Mum lived on Sycamore unit for 8 years until her death on 8th February 2020. Throughout this time, staff treated Mum with absolute dignity and respect. It was clear that staff cared about her, respected her wishes and her Christian faith. Her final days were made easier by the sensitive responses to
the family by staff. I cannot recommend highly enough the skill, care and consideration given to my mum over many years.

From the initial viewing of Woodlands to the first few days that mum arrived, we have all been made to feel very welcome. The staff have been very friendly and nothing so far has been too much trouble. There is always someone to ask if we have a query and mum seems to have settled in well. We have been
able to personalise mum's room the day before she arrived which ensured she felt the room was familiar to her.

We came to visit last week as our father moved in as a resident on 20th January 2020.
We are delighted with the service and level of care shown to ourselves and Dad. The domestic has been so friendly, caring and thorough. Two members of staff on The Oaks have been diamonds and put our minds at rest.
Dad is always doing things for the staff e.g catering properly that he would not do at home. It is always a worrying and sad time but made much easier by the warmth, professionalism and caring manner of all the staff.

I have been very impressed with the home in the short time in which my father has been a resident. The staff have been friendly and welcoming and have shown that their primary objective is the wellbeing of the residents. Rooms and facilities are good. My only concern has been the fact that some items
of clothing (socks and underwear) have gone to the laundry but not come back. That said I can understand that this is difficult to manage. Overall very satisfied.

The level of knowledge and support from the manager, admin staff, activities coordinator and chaplain has been most unexpected, with all members of the team being aware of my dad's health and needs. The nurses are superb and the care assistants work very hard too. We couldn't have asked for a better

I have found the home to be an extremely friendly place. Everyone speaks from the clerical staff to the cleaners and all visitors are warmly welcomed.
My only concern is that on occasions, staffing levels seem rather down, especially on the unit I am concerned with and residents become more agitated
when staff that they aren't familiar with, are in attendance. Overall though, Woodlands is doing a good job.

A greater level/frequency of "entertianment" would benefit the residents of Sycamore.
All clients, irrespective of their ability to interact, would appreciate music and simple craftwork with help. From cd's/singing/ to percussion instruments.

I think that the care provided is still of a decent nature but has deteriorated over the last 2 years with far too much reliance having placed on agency staff. The regular staff are excellent but some of the agency ones are not up to the standard required, in my opinion. Also, the continual change of
the manager does not help, as continuity is required, not so much chopping and changing.

When we visit our friend always appears well cared for, smartly dressed and looks comfortable. She is always treated with the utmost dignity and respect by all the staff we meet.
Since her care at Woodlands care Centre her condition is well stabilised she has put on weight and her confidence in her

Personal care by female staff can be an issue.
General staffing levels can be an issue - the lounge can be left unattended for too long.
Frequent use of agency staff, unfamiliarity can be an issue.

Upon admission, in February 2019 Woodlands welcomed my Mum like one of the family and this welcome was extended to all relatives and friends. All staff, from managers to carers to activities coordinators know the residents well and treat them as individuals and with dignity. The care shines through
and gives me confidence that Mum is safe in this environment. I would highly recommend this care home (and frequently do so!).

My wife has been a resident for the past two months and seems to have settled down well, although she still would like to return home.
The activities are arranged every weekday and although she does not join in every time. The fact that many others do show a good caring home.
