Requirements for Domestic Assistant

• Previous experience in cleaning, housekeeping, or a similar hygiene-sensitive setting (care, hospital, kitchen, or hotel) is desirable but not essential — full training provided
• A genuine passion for creating a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents
• Right to work in the UK — please note we are not able to offer visa sponsorship for this role, and applications from candidates requiring sponsorship cannot be progressed
• Willingness to work flexibly, including weekends, evenings, and occasional short-notice cover
• A reliable, organised approach with good attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks/rooms within a limited time

Responsibilities of Domestic Assistant

• Carry out daily cleaning duties across resident bedrooms, communal areas, bathrooms, and corridors, following cleaning schedules/checklists and infection control procedures
• Maintain high cleaning standards throughout the home, in line with CIW (Care Inspectorate Wales) standards and Amaya's policies and procedures
• Safely use cleaning equipment, materials, and COSHH-controlled substances in line with training and policy
• Identify and report any unsafe situations (e.g. spillages, faulty equipment, blocked fire exits) or maintenance issues to the relevant manager
• Handle and dispose of waste and laundry in line with infection control procedures
• Build genuine, trusted relationships with residents and families, remaining friendly and approachable while maintaining professional boundaries around role and duties
• Work collaboratively with the wider care team to safeguard and promote residents' welfare

Salary: £13.45 per hour
