We are looking for an experienced and passionate Sous Chef to join the team at Midford Manor Care Home, working alongside our Head Chef to deliver restaurant-quality dining experiences for our residents.
Using fresh, seasonal ingredients, you'll help create attractive, nutritious meals that support residents' wellbeing while making every mealtime enjoyable and memorable.

What You'll Be Doing

• Supporting the Head Chef in the day-to-day running of the kitchen
• Leading the kitchen team in the Head Chef's absence
• Preparing and cooking high-quality, nutritious meals using fresh ingredients
• Assisting with menu planning and development
• Managing stock levels and helping to control kitchen budgets
• Maintaining excellent food hygiene and HACCP standards
• Conducting regular quality and compliance checks
• Building positive relationships with residents and understanding their dining preferences

About You
We're looking for someone who is passionate about food and providing exceptional dining experiences.
You will have:

• Previous experience as a Sous Chef, Senior Chef, Chef de Partie or similar role
• A City & Guilds, NVQ, SVQ or equivalent culinary qualification
• A strong understanding of food safety, hygiene and HACCP standards
• Experience working with fresh produce and seasonal ingredients
• Good stock control and budget management skills
• Excellent communication and team leadership abilities
• A genuine passion for creating nutritious, delicious meals

Experience within a care home, healthcare or hospitality setting would be advantageous but is not essential.
