Job Summary
Hours: 16 hours per week, part-time
Working pattern: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, 10:00 to 14:00

Role purpose
You will keep our recruitment running smoothly and make sure every staff file meets regulatory standards. Working closely with the Head of Operations and Deputy Manager, you will manage adverts, interviews and pre-employment checks, and keep compliance records accurate and inspection-ready for the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
Key responsibilities
Recruitment
• Draft and post job adverts on job boards and use of internal portals
• Screen applications and shortlist candidates with the Head of Operations
• Arrange interviews, send invitations and prepare interview packs vua portal system
• Send offer letters, contracts and onboarding information to new starters
• Keep candidates informed at every stage and maintain a recruitment tracker via our portal system
Compliance and safer recruitment
• Carry out pre-employment checks: enhanced DBS, right to work, references, ID and full employment history with any gaps explained
• Check professional registrations (such as NMC PINs) and track renewal dates
• Process visa and sponsorship documents where relevant
• Keep personnel files complete, accurate and ready for CQC inspection
• Monitor expiry dates for DBS updates, training, visas and registrations, and flag them in good time
• Support audits of staff files and help put right any gaps found
Training and administration
• Keep the training matrix up to date and book mandatory training for staff
• Coordinate induction for new starters
• Handle personal data in line with UK GDPR and the home's confidentiality policy
• Take on other reasonable administrative duties as requested by the Head Of Operations
About you
Essential
• Administrative experience in an office setting
• Strong organisation skills and attention to detail
• Confident using email, Word and Excel
• Clear, friendly and professional communication in writing and by phone
• Good standard of English and maths (GCSE or equivalent)
• Reliable, discreet and able to work on your own initiative
• Understanding of confidentiality and data protection
• Right to work in the UK and willing to undergo an enhanced DBS check
Desirable
• Recruitment, HR or compliance experience, ideally in health or social care
• Knowledge of safer recruitment, DBS and right to work checks, and CQC standards
• Experience with HR or rota systems
• Business administration or HR qualification (such as CIPD Level 3)
