Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Catering Manager to lead our food service operations within our care home. In this role, you will oversee all aspects of catering, from food preparation and presentation to team supervision and ensuring food safety standards. Your leadership will ensure that residents enjoy delicious, nutritious meals served with warmth and professionalism, creating a positive dining experience every day. Hours are Monday to Friday 9am to 2pm
Responsibilities
- Prepare delicious and nutritional food on a daily basis including some hot breakfast and lunch and cakes or snacks for the afternoon tea.
- Coordinate and supervise daily food preparation, cooking, and presentation to meet high standards of quality and taste
- Manage catering staff, including supervising kitchen team members, fostering a collaborative and motivated work environment
- Oversee food safety compliance by implementing proper handling, storage, and sanitation procedures in accordance with regulatory standards
- Plan menus that cater to residents’ dietary needs while incorporating variety and culinary creativity
- Ensure timely delivery of meals and beverages for events or special occasions within the care home setting
- Maintain inventory levels, order supplies, and manage food production schedules efficiently
- Lead by example in hospitality service, ensuring residents receive attentive serving and personalized care during meal times
Experience
- Proven supervising experience in a hospitality or catering environment, preferably within a care home setting
- Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and culinary techniques with a focus on quality and presentation
- Experience in managing teams within food service operations, demonstrating leadership and effective communication skills
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices in food production and kitchen management
- Previous roles involving serving guests or residents with professionalism and warmth
- Experience working in hospitality environments that emphasize customer service excellence
