Job Summary
Georgian House Nursing Home is looking for a caring, enthusiastic, and creative Activities Co-ordinator to join our dedicated team.
You will plan and deliver engaging activities that promote social interaction, mental stimulation, independence, and wellbeing, while ensuring activities are tailored to residents’ interests and abilities, including those living with dementia.
Position Details
- Hours: 30 hours per week, including breaks
- Pay: £13–£14 per hour
- Visa Sponsorship: This position does not offer visa sponsorship or visa support.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver group and one-to-one activities, events, outings, and celebrations.
- Encourage social interaction, creativity, independence, and cognitive engagement.
- Develop activities suitable for residents with different mobility and cognitive abilities.
- Work closely with care staff to understand residents’ needs and preferences.
- Maintain a safe and welcoming environment during activities.
- Record participation and feedback to improve future activities.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and colleagues.
- Promote a person-centred approach throughout all activities.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a nursing home, residential care, elderly care, or similar setting.
- Experience organising or delivering activities for older people.
- Understanding of dementia care and person-centred care.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Creative, enthusiastic, patient, and compassionate approach.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
