Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Deputy Manager to join our care home team.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Care Home Manager to support the day-to-day running of the home and ensure residents receive safe, high-quality and person-centred care.

You will provide strong leadership to the staff team and help ensure the home meets all statutory, regulatory and company requirements, including CQC standards.

Key Responsibilities

The Deputy Manager will support the overall management of the home, including leading and supporting the staff team, managing the rota, recruitment, induction, training and staff development.

You will oversee care planning, risk assessments, clinical compliance and regular auditing, ensuring actions and improvements are completed within required timescales.

You will have responsibility for ensuring medication is managed safely and in line with company policies and procedures, including medication audits and competency assessments.

You will support the management of complaints, incidents and investigations, ensuring concerns are dealt with professionally and that lessons are learned and appropriate actions are followed through.

You will work closely with residents, relatives and external professionals to maintain good communication and ensure residents' needs, choices, dignity and independence are respected.

You will support the Care Home Manager with safeguarding, infection control, staff performance, sickness and absence management and ensuring the home remains compliant with all relevant regulations.

About You

We are looking for someone with previous experience in a senior or management role within a care home.

You will need excellent communication and organisational skills, be confident making decisions and be able to lead by example.

A Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care is required. A Level 4 or Level 5 qualification and previous Deputy Manager experience would be desirable.
