Contract: Temp – 6 month FTC
Hours: 32 hours per week
Salary: £13.74 per hour weekdays & £14.24 per hour weekends
Shift Times: 8am/8.30am to 5pm/5.30pm - Weekdays & Alternate Weekends
Location: Hailey Drive, Hailey Lane, Hoddesdon, SG13 7NY

We are seeking an Experienced Deputy Chef Manager or Sous Chef to join our Care Home Belmont View on a 6 month Contract basis. Belmont View is a welcoming 85-bed residential home, tucked away in a peaceful corner of Hoddesdon and known for its calm, homely atmosphere.
As a Deputy Chef Manager we are looking for a passionate and well-organised to support the Chef Manager and take lead in our kitchen, creating nutritious, comforting meals our residents can truly enjoy. This is a hands-on leadership support role where your culinary flair and organisational skills will make a genuine difference every day – bringing warmth, care and quality to every plate.
What You’ll Bring
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety in the workplace
- Knowledge of food safety standards and safe working practices
- Willingness to complete relevant training and ongoing CPD
- Experience in food preparation, cooking and service
- Familiarity with hygiene standards in a professional kitchen
- Ability to prepare homely, nutritious meals that meet a wide range of dietary needs
- A team?focused attitude and good communication skills
Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring all food safety and hygiene standards are met
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes to a consistently high standard
- Support and guide kitchen staff, helping to build skills and confidence
- Manage food production processes to maintain smooth workflow and quality control
- Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering supplies
