Evening Domestic / Kitchen Assistant

Brownhills Nursing Home is looking for an enthusiastic Evening Domestic / Kitchen Assistant to join our team. This is a varied role, helping us maintain a clean, comfortable environment for our residents while ensuring they enjoy a lovely evening tea.

The position combines evening housekeeping duties with kitchen assistance, including:

Evening Domestic Duties

• Carrying out general housekeeping duties throughout the home.

• Dusting and vacuuming residents’ bedrooms and communal areas.

• Emptying bins and ensuring areas are kept clean, tidy and presentable.

• Helping to maintain a comfortable, welcoming and homely environment for our residents.

Kitchen Assistant Duties

• Preparing evening tea, including sandwiches, sweets and savouries.

• Cooking a simple selection of hot foods, such as nuggets, quiche, pizza and soup.

• Washing up and cleaning utensils and equipment after evening tea.

• Thoroughly cleaning down the kitchen and work surfaces.

• Carrying out final kitchen checks to ensure everything is clean, tidy and ready for the next day.

Hours of Work

• Days: Thursday to Sunday.

• Hours: 20 hours per week for one post holder, or 10 hours per week if the role is job-shared.

• We are happy to consider either one person covering the full 20 hours or two people sharing the position
