Are you an experienced Senior Carer who leads by example?

At Fordingbridge Nursing Home, part of Allegra Care, we’re looking for a compassionate, confident and experienced Senior Carer (Care Partner) to join our team on permanent nights.

This is an opportunity for an experienced care professional who takes pride in delivering excellent person-centred care, supporting colleagues and ensuring residents feel safe, comfortable and respected throughout the night.

We want someone who combines strong care skills with a supportive approach to leadership, helping our team deliver the high standards of care our residents deserve.

Please note: This is a permanent night position, working 36 hours per week and including alternate weekends.

About the role

As a Senior Carer, you’ll play an important part in the daily running of the home, providing hands-on care while guiding and supporting other members of the care team.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering high-quality, person-centred care that promotes residents’ dignity, comfort and independence.

  • Supporting residents with their individual care needs throughout the night.

  • Leading by example and providing guidance and support to care colleagues.

  • Administering medication safely and in line with the home's procedures and requirements.

  • Monitoring residents’ wellbeing, recognising changes in their condition and escalating concerns appropriately.

  • Ensuring care plans and records are accurate and up to date.

  • Working closely with colleagues and the nursing team to maintain a safe, supportive environment.

  • Helping ensure residents receive the reassurance, attention and respect they need, whatever the time of day or night.

What we're looking for

Previous experience working at Senior Carer level in a residential or nursing home is essential.

You'll also need:

  • An NVQ or equivalent qualification in Health and Social Care at Level 2 or above. Level 3 is desirable.

  • Experience administering medication and a sound understanding of safe medication procedures.

  • The confidence to lead, support and motivate colleagues.

  • Good communication and organisational skills.

  • A reliable, professional and caring approach.

  • The ability to recognise concerns and respond appropriately.

  • A genuine commitment to supporting older people and delivering high-quality care.

We're looking for someone who understands that being a senior carer means more than completing tasks. It's about setting a positive example, supporting your team and making sure residents receive thoughtful, individual care.

What we offer
  • £14.60 per hour

  • A 36-hour weekly contract

  • Permanent night shifts, including alternate weekends

  • A friendly and supportive working environment

  • Ongoing training and development opportunities

  • The opportunity to develop your skills with an established care provider

  • A rewarding role where your experience and contribution make a real difference
