Maintenance Person | Care Home | Wrexham

SferaCare is looking for a reliable, hands-on Maintenance Person to join our care home in Wrexham.

£14.00 per hour | 37.5 hours per week | Permanent

About the role
You’ll keep our home safe, comfortable and welcoming for the people who live here. No two days are the same, and you’ll be a familiar, friendly face to residents and staff.

Your duties will include:

• General repairs and day-to-day maintenance of the building, furniture and equipment
• Carrying out and recording routine safety checks, such as fire alarm tests, emergency lighting, water temperature checks and legionella flushing
• Checking and maintaining bedrooms, communal areas and gardens
• Responding promptly to maintenance requests from the care team
• Decorating and small refurbishment jobs
• Supporting with equipment checks, including beds, hoists and call bells, and arranging external contractors when needed
• Keeping accurate maintenance records and reporting health and safety concerns

About you

• Experience in a maintenance, handyperson or building repair role (care home experience is helpful but not essential)
• A good working knowledge of general DIY, basic plumbing, electrical and decorating tasks
• Reliable, organised and able to work on your own initiative
• Kind, patient and respectful when working around people living with dementia and other care needs
• Good record-keeping and communication skills
• A full UK driving licence is desirable

What we offer

• £14.00 per hour 
• 37.5 hours per week 30 mins unpaid break included
• Full induction and training
