JOB DESCRIPTION

ROLE: CLEANER

DUTIES: To support the Home Manager and care staff to maintain a safe and clean environment. Tasks will primarily involve maintaining the cleanliness of the Home to a very high standard and will vary on a daily basis as determined by the Manager/your Line Manager, these will include:

-  The vacuuming of rooms and corridors emptying all waste bins

-  Cleaning glass and mirrors

-  Dusting/wiping of all room surfaces including paintwork

-  Removal of cobwebs

-  Sweeping and mopping of all floor surfaces

-  Cleaning toilets and bathrooms

-  Clean areas assigned

-  Shampoo carpets to ensure rooms are odour free

-  Report any maintenance concerns to the appropriate person

-  Keep cleaning store clean and tidy at all times

-  Keep cleaning materials stored safely

-  Ensure cleaning materials are never left unattended

-  Ensure all CoSHH and H&S (including risk assessments) guidelines are followed at all times

-  Ensure deep cleaning of rooms are carried out monthly

-  Maintain stock control

-  Ensure all necessary documentation is accessible, up to date and completed promptly

Good practice: Work within Company policies, procedures, guidelines and attending Staff meetings, supervisions and training when requested to do so. You should be familiar with inspection requirements and always mindful to achieve these. Always maintain polite and effective communication with residents, colleagues and visitors. This will ensure that as a Company we are constantly striving for excellence, where this falters an investigation may be carried out which may lead to reporting to external regulatory and governing bodies.
