Two carers from Speke, Liverpool have been jailed for stealing £90,000 from vulnerable residents.
Joan Vernon and Kathleen Treble stole the life savings and were only found out after an anonymous tip off to the council in April 2010. The women, who both blamed each other, were suspended during an 18 month investigation.
On the first day of her trial, Speke Care Home manager Vernon pleaded guilty to theft but her deputy Treble was found guilty by unanimous verdict after continuing to protest her innocence.
Vernon was sentenced to four years in prison and Treble to three - both will only serve half.
