Portsmouth City Council is asking residents who live close to the site of a proposed new care home to give their views on its design and layout.
The authority hopes to build a 72-bedroom facility for older people with dementia at East Lodge Park in Farlington. The home, which would replace two older buildings, would feature a 10-bed short stay unit and a day care centre where disabled people could receive assistance with independent living.
Neighbours of the site are being asked their views on the proposed development before the council applies for planning permission to ensure all potential issues have been considered at the earliest stage. Residents are invited to attend a drop-in session at St Andrew’s Church Hall, Havant Road, on 17 July, from 4.45pm until 6.45pm. From 17 July until 7 August, they will also be able to fill in an online questionnaire on the council’s website.
For more information about the proposals, visit www.portsmouth.gov.uk and search for ‘East Lodge Park’.
