More than 40 private nursing and residential care homes have been recognised by Leicestershire County Council for providing dignified care to residents.
The homes were recently awarded Quality Assessment Framework status at either gold, silver or bronze level, honouring their achievements of exceeding the standard quality of service.
Some of the homes were also presented with Dignity in Care awards, while others won Best Practice commendations.
Councillor Dave Houseman, cabinet member for adult social care, said: “Last year we presented 12 awards and this time it stands at more than 40 which confirms how much residential and nursing homes have embraced the challenge of driving up standards.
“Providing high quality services in Leicestershire’s care homes gives residents and their relatives the reassurance that the highest standards of quality and dignity are being met.”
