Nottingham based charity Wainman Trust are challenging passionate photographers to capture ‘the Character of Old Age’, launching a national competition in partnership with Jessops.
The charity, which specialises in whole-person care with a Christian ethos, is hoping to inspire photographers to capture innovative and creative images of ageing, hoping that the results will record older people in a positive and sensitive light.
Thematic suggests include older and younger people interacting, war veterans, dare devil antics, expeditions and horticultural exploits, although organisers want photographers to use their imaginations and surprise the judges.
The deadline for entrants is Saturday 18 April, with entries costing £5 and submitted to www.wainmantrust.co.uk/whatson Winners will receive prize vouchers worth £500 to be spent at a Jessops Camera Centre, with the top three entries also receiving an A2 canvas print of their photograph.
Chairman Olwen Davis has also announced new objectives for the charity, which include the funding of an innovative care centre to serve the city of Nottingham, for which like-minded ethical investors are being sought.
