Care home residents as well as their friends and relatives have rated care homes across the UK, giving their Top 20 for each region.
Their reviews of the overall standard of a care home, also include ratings on nutrition, staff, whether they are treated with dignity, value for money and the facilities. These have all been collated by the UK’s leading care home reviews site, carehome.co.uk, with each home given a score out of 10.
Finding the right care home can be hard as it needs to be a home as well as providing the appropriate care and support.
Davina Ludlow, director of carehome.co.uk, hopes their awards will help make people’s search for a care home easier.
She said: “We feel the best people to rate a care home are the residents and their families and friends. Their reviews reveal that many care homes are warm and happy places to live, where staff go that extra mile to ensure residents have a good quality of life and feel cared for.
“These awards show these homes provide a high standard of care and we’d like to congratulate them on being Top 20 care homes.
“It’s a wonderful achievement to be recognised for being a highly recommended home by the very people you care for.”
carehome.co.uk has also compiled a list of the Top 10 large, mid-size and small care home groups, with Ms Ludlow saying: “Care home groups, which put compassion, dignity and kindness at the heart of their care, are making a huge difference to residents’ lives.”
