Brilliant boat trip with The Willow Trust charity

Our Secret Garden Hub day guests, family and staff had a brilliant trip aboard The Willow Trust boat along the Gloucester-Sharpness Canal.

They went upon the 'Leonard Matchan' for a joyful journey in the sunshine on the Gloucester canal from Saul to Sharpness, with the superb experience of steering it too. With lots of scenery and wildlife to see along the route.

Did you know, the length of this canal is 16 miles, with 16 bridges and 16 feet deep in the middle. An amazing hand dug engineering achievement!

Thank you so much to the boat team for a fantastic day - Buzz the Skipper, Keith, Diana, Hilary and Alan - most of whom are volunteers. Our day care hub and care homes always enjoy our trips with you!

The Willow Trust charity provides a unique opportunity for people of all ages with a disability or serious illness to enjoy a therapeutic day out on the water. They've been going for 33 years and don't charge a penny. www.willowtrust.org
