Withens Nursing Home in Southfleet marked Emergency Services Day by launching its monthly Blue Light Breakfast Drop Off, a new initiative to support local emergency service teams.

On the morning of 12th September, General Manager Gurpreet Vara and Chef Gareth personally delivered hampers filled with hot breakfast rolls, freshly baked pastries, and fruit juices to the team at Gravesend Police Station. The gesture was warmly received, with the station’s sergeant sending a personal email of thanks to express their appreciation.

The Blue Light Breakfast Drop Off will now take place on the third Friday of every month, providing a regular way to show gratitude to those who serve and protect the community.

Gurpreet Vara, General Manager at Withens Nursing Home, said: “We wanted to mark 999 Day by doing something practical and heartfelt to support our local emergency services. Launching the Blue Light Breakfast Drop Off felt like the perfect way to say thank you and let them know how valued they are. We’re proud to make this a monthly tradition and hope it brings a smile to their mornings.”

The thoughtful initiative has already sparked enthusiasm and pride within the home, with residents and staff alike keen to keep the tradition going as an ongoing tribute to the hard work of emergency services staff.
