Poole care home celebrates ‘Good’ rating by CQC

The Lindsay Bupa Care home has been rated ‘Good’ by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), following its latest inspection.

The CQC report assessed The Lindsay as 'Good' in all areas: safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led. The inspectors found that residents feel safe living at The Lindsay and believe the staff are kind and caring.

One relative commented: “Staff all work together, they respect each other, and they respect the residents too.”

Commenting on the staff’s professionalism, another one said: “I am completely confident in the work they do.”

The report stated that The Lindsay has a proactive and positive culture of safety, based on openness and honesty. Residents said they are treated with respect and supported to live their lives well. One resident, Eileen Campbell, said: “I love living here! The facilities are very good and presented to a very high standard. I feel very well cared for and the team are fantastic at putting on fun activities to entertain us.”

Another resident, Joan Jones, commented: “The staff are friendly and caring; they are always happy to help me with anything and take time out of their day to have a chat with me. ” New home manager, Ian Dunthorne, joined The Lindsay in December 2024 and has led the team to achieve this fantastic result. Ian brings a wealth of experience to the role having managed Bupa care homes for the last 18 years, both in the UK and New Zealand.

Ian commented: “This result is a testament to the hard work, dedication and commitment of the team here at The Lindsay. We are delighted to achieve ‘Good’ status from the CQC and are excited to continue this path of providing exceptional care and quality services for our residents.” Overall, the report celebrated The Lindsay’s team and their dedication to the health and safety of their residents and staff.
