We were delighted to welcome Murmur, talented community producer and mural artist behind The Man Who Fed the Cats — a new mural project celebrating the life of former Gloucester Mayor Ralph Fletcher (1780–1851).
During their visit to Westbourne Residential Home, Murmur spent a wonderful afternoon with residents, listening to stories about the beloved pets they’ve had over the years. These touching memories will help inspire the artwork, which honours both a remarkable local man and the timeless bond between people and animals.
The visit was also featured on BBC Radio Gloucestershire, where Murmur spoke with Nicky Price about the project and mentioned their time with our residents.

We can’t wait to see the finished mural and are proud to have been part of such a meaningful community project celebrating history, kindness, and connection.
