Residents of Wincanton and the surrounding area are being invited to step inside the town’s new, state-of-the-art care home as The Bridles on Dykes Way hosts an open weekend on Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 March.
The Bupa team are welcoming visitors in to enjoy a glass of bubbly and homemade cakes, explore the show suite and facilities via guided tours and see the advanced care and luxury lifestyle services residents will be able to enjoy.
The open weekend will also provide an opportunity to meet the friendly team, including recently appointed home manager Ray Arnold and ask questions about their loved ones’ needs and how they will be catered for at The Bridles.
Ray Arnold has 20 years’ experience in the care industry and has transferred from Dean Wood Bupa Care Home, which has a rating of 9.9 on carehome.co.uk.
Ray said: "Now that our show suite is open, we are looking forward to opening our doors to the Wincanton community. There has been lots of interest already, so this is a great chance for people to come and see for themselves what makes the facilities so special. I’m personally looking forward to meeting prospective residents and their families and answer any questions they may have.
“We’re making great progress on site and are excited to see doors open officially in a few months’ time. We’ve also been busy recruiting and building a highly skilled care team, who are extremely passionate about providing the best possible care. It’s brilliant to see all our opening plans coming together.”
Work began at the site of The Bridles Bupa Care Home on Dyke’s Way last year and is expected to complete in Spring 2026. Over the next few months, the home will see the installation of quality furnishings, fixtures and fittings and state-of-the-art equipment to support the needs of residents.
With 72 spacious and stylish en-suite bedrooms, The Bridles’ interior has been carefully designed to offer premium comfort and outstanding facilities, including two restaurants, a bar, café, hair salon, therapy room, relaxing lounges and a home cinema.
The new development will also feature innovative technology to support the team to deliver exceptional care and ensure residents are kept safe and secure, including sensors to monitor changes in movement and behaviour and an online portal for families.
The new care home will provide nursing, residential and specialist dementia care and provide exciting new career opportunities for local people.
