TENNYSON WHARF MAKES RESIDENT’S DREAM COME TRUE

Resident, Connie, at Tennyson Wharf Care Home had wanted to be able to attend a Lincoln City Football team match, so staff at the home made her wish a reality proving the old adage, it’s never too late even at 95 years old!

Connie has lived at Tennyson Wharf for two years and is beloved by staff and residents alike for her sense of humour. Staff at the home were delighted to be a part of making her dream come true, as they knew how much it meant to Connie, and they all wanted to be there to see the smile on her face when her dream was realised.

Staff have long known of Connie’s love of Lincoln City Football team and wanted to surprise her with a trip to the stadium. Connie was also accompanied by Chef Polly who is a Lincoln City super fan and arrange the trip with the help of Alan, Lincoln City Fan Liaison Officer, both were there to witness this momentous occasion.

In response to this wonderful surprise, Connie said a resounding ‘Yes’ without hesitation having attended her first Imps match in 1949, she said: “I was so excited to be able to make this trip. It is such an amazing feeling to know that such a loving group of people care so much about me that they helped me to live out a dream – and I didn’t even ask.”

Sarah Noutch, General Manager at the home, said: “We believe that every moment is worth cherishing. We want everyone we care for to know how important they are to us here at Tennyson Wharf. It is testament to the hard work and dedication of the team here in making our residents’ dreams come true. It was wonderful to see how happy Connie was – and the staff loved being a part of this as well.”
