On Monday 27 April, we enjoyed a wonderful four-hour Kingfisher boat trip along the beautiful River Medway with three of our residents from our Care Home in Maidstone. It was the perfect way to spend a sunny spring morning with Bob, Jimmy and Trevor, along with Trevor’s son Jeremy.
We made our way towards Yalding, travelling through Hampstead Marina and lock, passing the picturesque Boat House pub. The leisurely pace of around three knots allowed us to fully appreciate the peaceful surroundings and lovely countryside views.
We eventually moored at Yalding near Teapot Island, where we enjoyed a lovely picnic lunch with tea and refreshments in the sunshine.
Along the way, we spotted an array of local wildlife, including a heron, a kingfisher, mandarin ducks and a mother duck leading her ten ducklings along the river!
It was a beautifully relaxing four hours filled with fresh air and treasured memories. We must book up another trip soon!
