Low Furlong Residents Join Community Litter Pick to Support Local Area

Residents and staff from Low Furlong care home, part of the Runwood Homes group, came together with Shipston Town Council and local volunteers on the morning of Saturday 2nd May to take part in a community litter picking initiative aimed at keeping the town clean and strengthening local connections.

The monthly activity, organised by Shipston Town Council, provides an opportunity for residents to engage with the wider community while contributing positively to their local environment. Participants worked side by side collecting litter, helping to maintain the town’s appearance and build meaningful relationships with fellow volunteers.

Clare, Lifestyle Coordinator at Low Furlong, commented: “A great opportunity for our residents to build more community links, working with Shipston Town Council and local volunteers while helping to keep our town tidy.”

The event brought together residents, care staff, council representatives, and members of the public, creating a collaborative and inclusive atmosphere. The morning was described as positive and uplifting, with a strong sense of teamwork and community spirit. Residents particularly enjoyed being outdoors, meeting new people, and working together toward a shared goal.
