Residents at St Mary's Care Home have been making the most of the recent heatwave with a variety of fun activities designed to keep everyone cool, comfortable, and smiling.
A new hydration station has been introduced, ensuring residents have easy access to refreshing drinks throughout the day. Combined with a seemingly endless supply of ice creams, it has been the perfect way to stay cool as temperatures continue to rise.
The home's garden was transformed into a summer fun zone, with a paddling pool, water games and plenty of opportunities for laughter. Residents thoroughly enjoyed joining in, especially when it came to soaking members of staff, who were more than willing to become targets in the name of fun.
One staff member said: "We're more than happy to get soaked if it puts a smile on our residents' faces.” The afternoon was filled with laughter, friendly competition, and lots of splashing, creating wonderful memories for everyone involved.
Michelle Lecheminant, Registered Manager at St Mary's Care Home, said: “It's important that our residents remain safe and hydrated during periods of hot weather, but we also want them to enjoy themselves. The water games and outdoor activities have been a fantastic way to keep cool while having fun together."
As the heatwave continues, the team at St Mary's Care Home remains committed to keeping residents safe, hydrated, and able to enjoy everything that summer has to offer.
