I moved to Morel Court in April 25 having spent 5 months in a nursing home. Because I made such a good recovery there, I'm now living in a care home. My experience so far is very good - it gives me more independence and freedom. The fact the home has only 39 residents makes it feel like you belong
to a big family. My room overlooks a lovely garden which, weather permitting, I take advantage of every day. All the carers and staff are always cheerful and willing to help. We enjoy good food and plenty of activities, so it's a place where I feel happy and being cared for.

My ninety-five-year old mother has been diagnosed with mixed dementia. She moved into Morel Court, Penarth in September 2024, after a trial period and has settled in well. She was keen to have a room on the ground floor. She initially moved into a room on the second floor, but a room on the
ground floor was soon available. She enjoys the range of activities on offer and is always ready to join in. There have been trips out and Mum is always asking, 'where are we going next'. Three meals are provided each day (breakfast, lunch, evening meal). Mum always askes for a larger portion as she eats well. The daily menu is displayed in the entrance foyer and there are choices for individual taste. Daily personal help is excellent. In my mother's own words - 'At Morel Court I feel safe, warm, well-fed and watered'.

We looked a a number of potential care homes for my stepmother last year. Morel Court stood out from the rest of them from the moment we walked in. There was a lovely family atmosphere and lots going on for the residents. The lovely member of staff who showed us around told us everything we needed
to know and answered our additional questions. The communal areas are clean and cheerful and my stepmother's room is really clean and homely with all her important things around her. It is five months since she moved in and has settled well. She speaks highly of all the staff. Communication is very good with staff replying quickly to any queries and also emaiing me if there is anything I need to know including any health matters relating to my stepmother.

Morel Court staff provided exceptional care when my mother had a stroke.
They called us promptly, had a welcome ready for us at the door as we arrived, and cared for us as a family in the most thoughtful and compassionate way.
My mother was made comfortable in a professional way, with all the
equipment necessary, and many staff popped in to see her, which was very comforting, both for her and for us.
Cups of tea were readily provided, but privacy as well when we needed it.
Mum survived, and we owe it to the gentle care and encouragement of the staff that she is now walking again and largely back to her old self.
Many thanks to all.

responded extremely well to mum's personal care needs. Mum's health and dementia deteriorated over her last couple of weeks and staff were exceptionally compassionate to her and our needs. We can't thank them enough for being with her when she died.
