I moved to Morel Court in April 25 having spent 5 months in a nursing home. Because I made such a good recovery there, I'm now living in a care home. My experience so far is very good - it gives me more independence and freedom. The fact the home has only 39 residents makes it feel like you belong to
a big family. My room overlooks a lovely garden which, weather permitting, I take advantage of every day. All the carers and staff are always cheerful and willing to help. We enjoy good food and plenty of activities, so it's a place where I feel happy and being cared for.

My ninety-five-year old mother has been diagnosed with mixed dementia. She moved into Morel Court, Penarth in September 2024, after a trial period and has settled in well. She was keen to have a room on the ground floor. She initially moved into a room on the second floor, but a room on the ground
floor was soon available. She enjoys the range of activities on offer and is always ready to join in. There have been trips out and Mum is always asking, 'where are we going next'. Three meals are provided each day (breakfast, lunch, evening meal). Mum always askes for a larger portion as she eats well. The daily menu is displayed in the entrance foyer and there are choices for individual taste. Daily personal help is excellent. In my mother's own words - 'At Morel Court I feel safe, warm, well-fed and watered'.

We looked a a number of potential care homes for my stepmother last year. Morel Court stood out from the rest of them from the moment we walked in. There was a lovely family atmosphere and lots going on for the residents. The lovely member of staff who showed us around told us everything we needed
to know and answered our additional questions.The communal areas are clean and cheerful and my stepmother's room is really clean and homely with all her important things around her. It is five months since she moved in and has settled well. She speaks highly of all the staff. Communication is very good with staff replying quickly to any queries and also emaiing me if there is anything I need to know including any health matters relating to my stepmother.

Morel Court staff provided exceptional care when my mother had a stroke.
They called us promptly, had a welcome ready for us at the door as we arrived, and cared for us as a family in the most thoughtful and compassionate way.
My mother was made comfortable in a professional way, with all the equipment
necessary, and many staff popped in to see her, which was very comforting, both for her and for us.
Cups of tea were readily provided, but privacy as well when we needed it.
Mum survived, and we owe it to the gentle care and encouragement of the staff that she is now walking again and largely back to her old self.

My mother has been a resident at Morel Court for just over one year. During that time she has become involved in many of the activities, received an excellent standard of care and has been treated with the utmost respect and affection. As a family, we have been delighted with the team at Morel Court,
their communication to us concerning all matters and their ability to respond quickly to any ill-health concerns getting medical input rapidly. My mother experienced iII-health recently which saw a decline in her cognition and mobility, the team has shown patience and encouragement that has seen my mother recover better than we could have imagined. Thank you everyone.

My mum is so happy and feels so safe at Morel Court, all staff members treat her with dignity and respect and promote and support her independence as far as possible. They always have time to attend to all her needs and are very quick to respond to any questions and queries I may have. Communication
with relatives is excellent and they provide lots of activities and outings and care for my mom holistically, respecting her religious and cultural needs. Our mum lived at Morel Court for 2 years until she died at the beginning of August. My sister and I were extremely happy with the kindness, care provided by all the staff, including kitchen, cleaners, laundry, gardeners but especially the care staff and managers, who showed great compassion and responded
extremely well to mum's personal care needs. Mum's health and dementia deteriorated over her last couple of weeks and staff were exceptionally compassionate to her and our needs. We can't thank them enough for being with her when she died.

Morel Court is very well run. Everyone is taken care of for the residents including hairdressers and podiatrists brought to them. There is a varied choice of food always and as my mother is a vegetarian (the only one) they make a special menu for her. They have two church services a week in the home
which my mother enjoys and a wide range of activities and entertainment to suit all people. It has recently been upgraded to a high standard throughout. The staff are all exceptionally good and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble. Also the location is a real bonus with run and pier within walking distance!

We visit Morel Court regularly and the staff are always helpful and incredibly pleasant. The home itself is beautifully clean, and there is a great relaxed atmosphere, both for the residents and visitors. The staff work very hard to make the residents at home, and there seems to be plenty of activities
and entertainment to hand.

The staff at Morel Court are always extremely helpful. They treat everyone in the home with the utmost care and nothing is too much trouble for them. I have been at Morel Court for a while now and I am really happy here. The carers are lovely, very kind and caring. The activities are really good, we are always doing something. Never a dull moment. I enjoy the food here especially my porridge every morning. My daughters have meals with me here sometimes
and they always enjoy it too.
