My mum stayed here for three weeks, and the staff have been fantastic with her. Whenever I visited, all the staff were really friendly and helpful. On my very first visit, just after my mum moved in, the staff got me a chair so I could sit quietly with my mum and spend some quality time together. Overall, it was an excellent experience. Thanks to all the staff for their wonderful care and support.
I am very pleased with the care and support we have received from the staff at Long Meadow Care Home. My Dad has been at this care home for 5 years. He is very well cared for, looked after and above all he is very happy there. They support him on his good and bad days when he is so confused he thinks he will be going home but the staff support and comfort him and make sure he is settled. The Home have regular activites, hairdresser, feet and eye care service. Staff are available to answer any queries and will help solve any issues you may have. The food is good quality and always with plenty of choices for breakfast, lunch or tea time. I can not praise them enough for their support with Dad but also with myself too. Thank you.
We were very concerned about moving our 97 year old Mother who is very frail. However, our concerns soon disappeared when we realised how well she was being looked after. The staff quickly understood her needs and she has settled in very well. We are kept informed of any issues. I wish we had moved her to Long Meadow sooner.
My mum has lived at Longmeadow for just a few months but has settled in very well, she loves her room & all the staff, everyone is so caring & lovely & can't do enough to help, which helps me as a Daughter feel that Mum is well looked after, top marks from me, Thankyou to all the staff.
I find all the staff friendly, caring and helpful, the manager is approachable and efficient at her job, any problems or niggles that you have will be rectified asap. The home is clean and tidy. Everyone does a very good job.
My mum has been a resident since June 2023, she is well cared for. She had a fall a couple of weeks ago, she fell out of bed and injured her leg. Staff cared for her until an ambulance arrived. In hospital, they discovered she had pneumonia. She was discharged back to the home the same day under the frailty virtual ward with oxygen being made available at the home. The staff cared for her well under difficult circumstances.
My sister has been at Long Meadow Care Home for about three months and has settled down well. The staff are kind and helpful and the home has a comfortable homely feel. She says the meals are very good. Generally, I am very happy with the way she is being cared for.
Visitors made welcome always. Efficient and courteous staff.
The carers are always friendly and look after the residents well. It is very clean and the cleaners are around a lot to keep it that way. I feel I can speak to staff freely about things and they sort things out straight away. It's a pity they haven't more funding to do more activities in the afternoon which the residents would enjoy.
Was happy to see that my Auntie was settled, that was clear by her whole demeanour. Staff was kind and attentive and would recommend anybody looking for a care home in the Derbyshire area look no further.
They are ready to help me all the time, dressing, changing and pads etc.
My mother seems perfectly at ease with the staff if they should visit her during my weekly visits. She informs me that her meals are very nice. As I only visit for less than one hour per week I am basing my review and answers based on this alone.
The building although clean is in a dreadful state of repair. It is clear there has been no investment in the property for a long time. The staff are excellent but obviously not appreciated by the company they work for. The area where my mother lives is gloomy and scruffy and poorly maintained. The administration leaves much to be desired when I'm asked to provide either cash or cheque for expenses.
All the carers and staff are very friendly and nice to mum and always help you if you have any queries.
I had an appointment to visit my mother today. All the staff I met were very helpful and wore obviously very affectionate towards Mum. Mum has advanced dementia (Alzhiemers) and therefore needs a lot of assistance since she can no longer walk unaided. I am very happy with the excellent care she received today and the excellent level of cleanliness that I saw in the home.
My wife and I cannot speak highly enough regarding the staff and management of Long Meadow. They cared so much for my mother-in-law in the last few weeks of her life when we moved her to Matlock to be near us. The home is run professionally and balances that with an open and caring manner. My mother-in-law had a large room which was well appointed and we are sure she would have been happy here long term. The current manager is worthy of particular note. She was extraordinarily helpful and kind during our first few days after first contact right up to the most difficult of days very recently. She is a real credit to the organisation. We were always made a coffee when we arrived by staff attending the hot drinks and the food was excellent, tasting properly homemade and lovely. We can recommend Long Meadow without hesitation. They really looked after a loved member of our family and we will always be grateful to the whole staff.
The staff are wonderful (what few there are). Sometimes only two on to deal with the patients. They work very hard but if there was an accident they might not be around at the time as they could be busy. No stimulation for the patients. All they do is sleep or walk around. They don't get taken out to see something different. Things go missing, even if they have names on everything. I am self-funding and find it a lot of money when some people get help. I feel more could be done for the patients. But more staff is required.
Mum had several weeks respite care at Long Meadow pending a care package at home. She settled in well and always spoke highly of the staff. Her room was bright with lovely views and had everything she needed. She had choices of lounges to sit in depending on if she wanted company or quiet time and made very good friends with one particular resident. The dining room is large and welcoming and Mum often had a late breakfast as she doesn't like to get up too early. There are visits from a hairdresser and chiropodist which Mum took advantage of. We always felt that Mum was safe and that the staff cared about her. The only issue we had was sometimes it took a while to be let in or out but we fully understand that the safety of the residents is paramount.
Mum and dad have just spent 5 weeks of respite at Long Meadow. The room was lovely, spacious and clean with views out on the duck pond and Peak rail line, with steam trains passing by. The manager and her staff are lovely and can't do enough for the residents and family. The meals are excellent and the home provides entertainment, hairdresser, chiropodist and optician which we took advantage of. Thank you for looking after mum and dad!
Very welcoming. Management and staff encourage participation but with understanding. Ethos is "it is the resident's home and all other guests, residents and staff have come to visit the individual".
