Mile Oak feels homely and all of the staff are friendly, cheerful and helpful and very welcoming to families who are encouraged to join in or come for lunch. You can see that they have a kind, happy, respectful and good relationship with dad and the other residents and they allow Dad to decide
whether to join or not with the many activities that are offered. Some staff have been especially supportive and the care manager is kind, calm and helpful and although very busy, has helped with advice with some issues, sorted out dad's hearing aid repair with the NHS and obviously has the residents interests at heart, such as taking time out to help dad in activities when he had no hearing aid. Of the care homes that I have seen, I would gladly make this my first choice!

What a fantastic team! My Nan has been a resident there since May 25. The whole team are friendly, supportive, caring and goes beyond the call to make sure residents are truly cared for. I can't recommend Mile Oak highly enough

As expected it took a while for our mum to settle in to a new style of life. The transition was made a lot easier by all the staff at Mile Oak. They are wonderful, caring people. Always making the residents laugh and putting on activities for those that want to join in. Our mum has been there for 9
months now and in that time you can see how much they have done to modernise the care home and quite a lot of changes have been made, all for the good of the residents, family and staff. They are also very supportive of the families.

My mother went into Mile Oak in April 2025 and it didn't take long for her to settle in there and realise how special it is, and she absolutely loves it. She has recently celebrated her 100th birthday, the home pulled out all the stops in throwing a wonderful party for her, her family and all the
other residents. The staff and the management team are kind and caring, the residents are treated with dignity and respect. She loves all the activities especially being taken out on trips and being treated to coffee and cakes. She is always saying how well looked after she feels and how well she is treated. I have had meals with her and the food is excellent and she loves the odd glass on wine. Mum has not only accepted Mile Oak as her new home but is happy to tell everyone this is her home and I know she would not want to be anywhere else - quite simply she is just living her best life and looking forward to spending many more years being looked after there.

Since coming here from living at home, I feel very well supported. Although I am older, I still feel young, and the carers certainly make me feel good about myself. The food is lovely, the staff are fun, and the lady who met me at home and brought me here has been lovely, a comforting face and keeps
me laughing.

We needed to find somewhere for my mum to be looked after at short notice when my dad was taken ill, and my mum has just finished a stay of 3 weeks at Mile Oak. Natalia the manager was fantastic throughout, and all of the staff were positive, friendly and helpful. They all made her stay very
comfortable and she felt well looked after and reassured at a difficult time. There is a very friendly and supportive atmosphere at Mile Oak, and I would certainly recommend it to others.

Very happy if you have to go to a care home this is lovely, homely and friendly. All the staff are marvellous. Manager is an angel.

I found Mile Oak Rest Home very pleasant and very accommodating. The decor and ambience of the home better than probably a year ago. Well done to the owners and staff. We enjoyed the 80th VE day celebrations. My wife and I are family friends to one of your residents.

Relatives and friends have used and valued the warm, friendly and caring environment for the past 20 years. I have no hesitation in recommending Mile Oak Rest Home.

My Dad has been at this wonderful rest home for over a year now. It's feels like home from home and the staff are wonderful and caring , it's like one big family. Always feel welcomed and the care for dad and his needs is always met with dignity and respect. Food is wonderful, event planning always
fun and family & friends are always invited to join in. Can't fault and it's reassuring knowing dad is being cared for.

Mum moved into Mile Oak Rest Home in 2018 and spent four and a half years there. She was happy, spoke very highly of all the staff and felt safe.
Residents are able to spend time in the lounge, join in the activities, or just watch and listen if they prefer, but there is no pressure to take part.
During the summer, the garden is a welcoming place to sit and chat in the fresh air.
Staff and management took time to get to know the residents and treated them with respect at all times. Mum enjoyed a gentle, humorous banter with the staff and they were happy to indulge her sense of humour.
During the Pandemic, when we were not permitted to visit our loved ones, I was kept informed of Mum's welfare at all times. It is due to the staff's dedication and hard work that Mum remained safe from Covid.
Sadly, following admission to hospital and a change in Mum's health and care needs, she is unable to return to Mile Oak.

Our mother moved in Mile Oak in the middle of a Covid Lockdown, meaning we were unable to view Mile Oak before Mum moved in and she had to isolate for 2 weeks on admission. Our mum was post operative and had dementia, so in a frail state. Mile Oak ensured we were kept fully informed throughout and
nothing was too much trouble. She had a large comfortable room, which we were able to personalise with her own furniture and pictures etc. The staff were always kind and spoke to residents and visitors with great respect. Our mother sadly passed away after just 7 months in Mile Oak, they cared for Mum right up to her passing.
Mum herself always spoke very highly of all the staff at Mile Oak, whether it was the carers, handyman, cook etc and always said the food was good. Despite it being a difficult time of change for her, she was always content.
It gave us great peace of mind, that we knew she was being well cared for.
Thank you to all at Mile Oak, you are doing an amazing job.

In September 2019 at the age of 89 my aunt became a resident at Mile Oak Rest Home as she could no longer look after herself. Her eyesight was failing, and she needed 24-hour care. Mile Oak fitted her needs and more.
Under the leadership of the manager, the staff, are most caring, considerate,
understanding, and reassuring, nothing is too much trouble, even meals are tailored to the resident's needs.
Residents are treated to a full programme of entertainment, such as singalongs, flower arranging, bingo, board games, quizzes, and cards to name a few.
Unfortunately, this August my aunt became ill, and was taken to hospital, where she sadly passed away, aged 91 years.
Mile Oak is a delightful and very friendly Care Home where, my aunt was very happy, and very well looked after. Communication is excellent. I had regular update from the manager and her deputy which was very reassuring, and helpful.
Thank you to all the staff at Mile Oak from the bottom of my heart.

Our Mum was in care for three years at this home. Wonderful home, fantastic staff and always treated with respect and dignity. She was very happy in the home; she wanted to spend her last years with the family. Will always be thankful for the wonderful care she received at "Mile Oak" 10/10.

My Mother spent 2 1/2 years at Mile Oak as her health and her abilities deteriorated when my Father died. Mile Oak took her in, cared and looked after her in every way possible way until she passed away, to a standard second to none. The Team here were always on hand to tend to everyone’s needs,
always happy, polite and motivated. The home has a really personal and friendly feel to it, it’s a lovely character house rather than a modern purpose-built “facility for the old” which for my mother's sake was a perfect fit. I can’t praise the staff enough for looking after my mother so well, highly recommended.

Mile Oak was a fabulous place for Dad to spend his last 2-years. The level of care provided was exemplary and attended to all his needs and with a high level of professionalism, compassion and humour. Dad was reluctant to go into care, he was fiercely independent, but after reading that Mile Oak was
his best options, he bought into what was being offered and was very fond of all the staff. In all ways, it met our expectations and Dad's needs. I would whole-heartedly recommend Mile Oak.
23 November 2020
My friend settled well into the caring and friendly atmosphere of Mile Oak. He was able to enjoy the weekly activities provided, as well as time spent in the garden with other residents.
The management team and carers showed professionalism, understanding of his needs and were always there to
support him and myself, as a visitor.
Mile Oak was always very clean and tidy, well maintained, and provided excellent food.
As my friend became more frail and needed more specialised care, staff were always patient and receptive to his personal and medical needs. Nothing was ever too much to ask, and I am so grateful that he was happy at Mile Oak and able to remain there until his death in October 2020.
During the circumstances of Covid-19, I received a weekly newsletter, the opportunity of safe visiting when possible, and online visits were also made available.
Mile Oak provides the attributes to make it a “home from home” for all who live there, and I would highly recommend it.

My time at Mile Oak was so comfortable and homely. I cannot praise it enough, the staff could not be more caring, dedicated people. I was born one hundred years ago, and the manageress and staff gave me a lovely party to celebrate with both daughters invited, who thoroughly enjoyed it. Before the
shutdown, due to covid, we had entertainment, trips to the cinema, the staff did everything they could possibly do, to make a real home for everyone! I pray things be normal, all will be well, Bless Mile Oak.
07 August 2020
My aunt died at Mile Oak on 24th July 2020. The manager and her deputy treated my aunt with the utmost care, consideration, respect and love. My aunt was 100 years and 8 months when she died and had lived at Mile Oak for 3 and a half years. Her slow, physical deterioration over this period was
accommodated. She was admitted to hospital on the 4th July with heart failure but was able to return to Mile Oak for her last days. Mile Oak has a homely atmosphere, it is always clean and tidy. Good food and a wonderful atmosphere.
