My godfather moved to Bentley Lodge Nursing Home at the end of October 2025, and it was the only home that immediately felt warm and welcoming.
The manager, Julie, is knowledgeable, understanding, and always willing to discuss any concerns properly.
My godfather has dementia and a number of
other medical conditions. He can become distressed, which initially worried us, but the nursing and care staff have been consistently patient, calm, and friendly. Thanks to them, he has settled in very well. They keep his wife updated with any changes, which gives great reassurance.
She visits every afternoon and always feels welcomed and supported. There is a strong sense of community, with plenty of activities to keep residents engaged. My godfather especially enjoyed the Christmas entertainment and celebrations.
Bentley Lodge truly feels like a home-from-home, and we are very grateful for the care he receives.

My very dear husband arrived in the care of Bentley Lodge at the end of October 2025. Obviously such a move was very emotional for us both and a period of adjustment was needed. Throughout this process we were both supported by everyone from Julie the manager through every member of staff always
greeted even when just passing in a corridor. There is such a homely warm feeling at The Lodge and the staff in all categories do an excellent job. At first food / activities hard going now improved.
The cleaning is being done all the time and the building smells lovely. Having nurses on hand is also a great comfort.
Christmas was sensational the organisation and hours of work it must have entailed most appreciated. The staff joined in with great gusto at the many events that took place. Special thanks also to the chef and catering staff. All in all I am so pleased to have found such a warm and caring environment for my husband and for me to visit him in each day. Thank you!

I was very sceptical about some of the stories that you see and read about care nursing homes. But after a week of my grandad being here my views were completely changed. He gets all the support that he needs. Staff are always very happy and helpful. Nothing is too much of a problem of them. Always
clean and smells nice. The choice of food is really good. Very happy that he is here being cared for.

I would like to thank Bentley Lodge for their care and dedication to my dad Alan. My father arrived at Bentley Lodge from hospital in a frail state. We knew that dad didn't have much time and we were keen to remove him from hospital.
The amazing team at Bentley Lodge provided loving care to my
dad in his last weeks. Everyone at Bentley Lodge was so supportive to myself and my sister as we navigated dad's last weeks.
From amazing Nusing and care staff, to Julie and the office staff, we felt supported at all times.
We had a long journey to visit dad, and often arrived early or out of hours, but always felt welcomed.
Dad passed away at Bentley Lodge and he was treated with total dignity and love at
all times.
Thank you. Xx

i cannot speak highly enough of the service my father and i have received.
The care and kindness of the staff has overwhelmed us both after coping with long months in a hospital. and now needing palliative care, i can see that my father is being so carefully looked after both physically and
emotionally.
whenever i have arrived with all the worries such a challenging situation presents , i have left feeling totally reassured... so i feel as if we are both being looked after.
every staff member i have met has been delightful.
he is totally bedridden but always he has a happy story about how the staff take their time with him.
i feel privileged to have met such an extraordinary set of people in such a difficult time.
i can only wish for all people in this situation wherever they are that this level of care is provided.

I have been visiting a friend in Bentley lodge on a regular basis for companionship to my friend and to help her family as they like her to have regular contact with family and friends.I go into other care homes also but would like to say how warm and welcoming the staff are here. On entering the
home you are greeted with very pleasant staff from the office staff to all the carers and workers helping. There is always someone to help and speak to when needed snd the patient care I would say is excellent. It is a pleasure to be part of and a welcoming place to visit.

My mum was discharged from hospital to the home, suffering ongoing delirium. We were very apprehensive of the move and how she would be able to cope with this change. She was welcomed by all the staff who made an exceptional effort to settle her in. This included the home and deputy manager, the
nurses and carers. They gave their time willingly, listening to our concerns as we tried to explain our mum's needs. This gave us the confidence that we could put our trust in them, putting our minds at rest. Their care has been exemplary throughout the last few months.
The chef prepares her a special soft food diet for which we are very appreciative. The cleaners are friendly and keep the home spotless. The home has a full programme of activities.
The staff are so patient and kind. This kindness has been extended to the whole family - giving us their time willingly, always happy to discuss how things are going or what systems can be put in place to try to help my mum and her ongoing needs.

My father spent his last three and a half years at Bentley Lodge Nursing Home. While not luxurious, it is clean, welcoming, and resident-friendly. The management continuously makes improvements to enhance residents' comfort and safety, and I appreciate their open-door policy.
The nursing staff is
diligent and caring, providing excellent support with commitment and respect. Other staff, including those in cleaning and cooking, are essential for the facility's smooth operation. The care staff, in particular, are professional and hardworking.
One of my dad's greatest joys was the singing entertainment, and the Activities team works hard to keep residents engaged. Overall, Bentley Lodge offers a welcoming and friendly environment with good care.

My relative has been in Bentley Lodge for the last few years. We visit very regularly and have found all the staff to be caring, friendly and professional.
Dementia care needs a special set of skills, and the activities on offer are reflective of that. It's lovely to see how the carers treat my
relative like they are a member of their own family. It's very reassuring.

Dad has dementia & was recently moved for respite, as we didn't want him to leave his home. However he is so happy here, has picked up amazingly & we couldn't be happier with his care & the peace of mind it's given us. The manager & the team are amazing, friendly & we are so grateful dad is being
well looked after.
He is stimulated with various activities, he specially enjoys bird watching from inside and out in the garden.

Popped in to see my friend, when visiting my family in the area. My friend was settled very happy within herself, had just had her hair done. She was chatty, seemed happy with all the staff and said she had had a lovely lunch. I spoke to a few staff members, polite, cheerful and very helpful, was
nice to see my friend happy and very relaxed.
31 January 2025
Lovely, welcoming feel to the home, staff are very attentive although always busy. Happy to answer questions and felt reassured they are giving the best care with a smile.
It is a pleasure to visit and so lovely to see my friend interacting with staff and residents doing activities provided.
30 January 2025
The care is pretty poor. I seldom saw carers checking on my relative, only the cleaner who was so kind and lovely. I can count on one hand the number of times I saw carers checking in on my relative. Once when feeding, the carer was just shovelling the food in, to the point that I said "Stop!
They'll choke as they haven't swallowed the last mouthful!". Compared to another home that I visit regularly for another relative, Bentley Lodge isn't great. Staff don't seem to care, spend much of their time chatting amongst themselves or playing on their phones, rather than engaging with the residents. Alarms are going off constantly and just ignored, which must be awful for residents to have relentless alarms just being ignored. When you request something, it would take me asking several times before it got done. My relative was bed-bound with zero stimulation. When they passed, not even so much as a condolence card, after 4.5 years, just a condolences at the top of the email with the last bill.
21 November 2024
The home is quite welcoming when you enter. Security is good, pin pad required to enter the home. Has recently had new flooring and is much better. The staff are helpful and responsive to the needs of the residents. The home is kept very clean and tidy. Overall, I'm very happy to know my mum is kept
safe and well.
