We moved Mum from a home where she was not encouraged to participate and her needs were not met, in short, she was left in bed all day, to sleep, eat , be cleaned etc. we cannot believe the difference in the Firs!! So clean, beautifully decorated, made to feel more homely. Staff are amazing and very
attentive to Mum's needs , encouraging her to sit (in special chair) to take part in activities and to join in conversation. I am very pleased with the professionalism of all staff, combined with caring attitude. The activities and trips(which are daily) are amazing and planned to encourage all residents to take part and enjoy. I feel guilty that Mum was not moved sooner! All extras, weekly hairdresser, toiletries, manicure, trips and activities are included in the weekly price, which was not the case in her previous home

I cant express enough how truly grateful we are for the amazing care my dad receives at the firs nursing home.
As a family, we knew straight away when we first visited that this home was different. It felt welcoming, and homely with such a lovely atmosphere. Moving my dad here was honestly the
best decision we could have made. Sadly, his previous nursing home gave very poor care, and we had to report concerns to the CQC on several occasions. The difference between the two homes is unbelievable.
Now we have complete peace of mind knowing my dad is happy, safe, respected, and genuinely cared for like a king. You can clearly see that the whole of the team are passionate about giving the very best care possible. The activities, outtings, one 2 ones are just fantastically organised a real dream team, every single member of the team deserve recognition they all do incredible job, all of the team are truly appreciated by our whole of the family.

We were understandably very dubious about placing Dad into nursing care, particularly because of a previous difficult experience of where involvement from the Care Quality Commission (CQC) had been required. That experience made us extremely cautious and anxious about making the right decision,
however, Kelly, Sarah and the wonderful staff from The Firs have completely restored our confidence. Communication is excellent, involved in events, meetings, and any changes to his care needs. Conversations with staff are open, honest, and realistic, and they consistently demonstrate a deep level of respect and empathy for all residents. Knowing Dad has compassionate 24-hour care has been a great relief, and it's clear how much he enjoys the company of the many staff members who look after him, he has built so many friendships and finally has a smile on his face. The staff are family to us, and the love they show is everything a human being so deserves. Forever grateful and blessed.

It's a care home that you feel welcome when you're there. If there are any issues when you're there they take it somewhere private so it doesn't upset others. The entertainment is unbelievable (instead of care homes where residents just eat and sleep). Can go home after a visit knowing our loved

My husband moved from another care home to this establishment following concerns there. We were recommend The Firs and found the recommendation to be correct! From the staff to accommodation and care it has been exceptional. Staff have been so accommodating to my husbands care needs. My husband has
gone from hell to heaven.

We definately chose the perfect place for our dad. The whole team at The Firs are amazing. The home is very clean and homely. The management team always keep us informed of any changes.

A great experience. I was nervous about going into a nursing home for respite, but from the moment I go to The First I was made to feel very welcome and comfortable. The staff are excellent, my room was cosy and the food was really good. I enjoyed my full English every morning. I was treated like a
king and would definitely come back to The Firs for a stay.

Absolutelty excellent service from the whole staff at The Firs! I was apprehensive about my husband going in for respite, but from the assessment at home to him being discharged, we couldn't have been put more at ease or welcomed. My husband was happy and content from the moment he arrived. The
staff also made sure we made wonderful memories to cherish. From making Valentine's Day memorable to getting my husband and I out for a meal, which we hadn't done for 2 years. Simply amazing. Definitely go back when respite needed again.

Since my husband went into The Firs he has received excellent care. The carers are extremely patient and he can be very hard work. Every member of staff including the domestic are happy to spend time with him and support me. The nursing staff are very good, and the manager is always willing to offer
support to me.

My auntie is a resident and I feel happy in the knowledge that she is safe and being well looked after. Her health is gradually deteriorating, but the girls looking after her keep us updated. My auntie enjoys the company of the other residents and staff and loves to join in with all the activities
and entertainment that is always happening. She has little opportunity to be bored!

A nursing home to be recommended for all aspects of your loved one's care. Compassionate, attentive and dignified staff. Home-cooked meals and snacks. Clean, tidy, orderly bedrooms. Pretty, wheelchair friendly garden.

The care, love and kindness shown to my mum by all the staff is incredible. It’s a friendly, fun atmosphere, and as a family, we are well-informed about events, meetings and any care requirements. The discussions with staff are honest and realistic and always show deep respect for residents. Having
been concerned about Mum going into nursing care, I don’t believe we could have found anywhere to better The Firs. It’s been a great relief to know that she has 24-hour care, and she absolutely loves the many staff members who care for her. The social side is great with activities, which cater for many tastes, including trips out, which the residents really enjoy. It’s an amazing and very caring home.
