View Full Details of Victoria Park Care HomeMy mother-in-law has been at Victoria Park for 9 months, and during that time, I have seen nothing but care and concern from the staff. She is treated with respect at all times, even though she can be a little confused much of the time. The meals are lovely and varied, and she is given as much time as she needs to eat them. All the staff are cheerful and friendly with the residents, and her face lights up when they wave from the other side of the living room if they are going through. A lovely home and marvellous staff. I am very happy with Victoria Park.
The standard of care is second to none the staff are friendly and very professional
Very good, informative and very relevant to my brother's needs.
I was told the place was fantastic by the manager. She told me she'd got a first class chef within less than 24 hours. My mother was on the phone crying. I attended the care home to find this fantastic cook couldn't even poach your egg. The place is an absolute disgrace and I would not let a dog stop in it. The Manager, is a first class liar don't put any member of your family in this place if you care about them and I am telling you the truth you are more than welcome to contact me. My mother was taken out the place as soon as possible and I care for her at home.
I'm so grateful for the staff at this care home. They are friendly, approachable, and genuinely compassionate. From the start, they made sure to keep us well-informed about everything and always greeted us with warmth and kindness. It's clear that they truly care about their residents, which made a huge difference in my granddad's experience here. We've felt completely supported by the team every step of the way. The cleanliness of the care home is also exceptional. Unlike other places we've seen, there's no unpleasant smell, and the common areas are always tidy and well-kept. My granddad was always well cared for - he was clean, shaved, and bathed regularly. I would recommend this care home to anyone. A huge thank you to all the staff for making my Grandad's last few weeks as pleasurably as they could be.
The staff at this home go the extra mile, can't thank them enough.
My dad was in Victoria Park Nursing home from January 2025 until his passing in March 2025 .During his time there he was treated with the utmost respect care and kindness from everyone he was in contact with. Although not a ultra modern establishment it was spotless and comfortable and warm and the staff were brilliant with both dad and the whole family (so wonderful the day he passed away ) I would recommend it to anyone thank you for looking after him
I just want to say a massive thank you to all the staff and nurses that took care of my father in law. I've been a carer for over 20 yrs and to all the working at Victoria Park care home are just all Amazing, friendly and give care with such dignity. Gave 1 star on food and drink (as he wasn't eating). We will sadly miss our father in law. Thank you again to all the staff.
From the minute my husband was taken into the home he was treated fantastically by every member of management and staff. He was looked after and treated with respect and had laughter with the care staff, all the family were looked after and everything was explained to us. The day he passed away he was made comfortable and spoken to gently and we were looked after. Overall experience was outstanding.
The home is always clean and welcoming. The carers are very caring and would do anything for the residents to make them feel safe and happy. It's a shame it is changing hands, I only hope the new owners are as caring.
My mum has been a resident at Victoria Park Care Home for 9 years now. I have always been happy with her care. The staff are attentive and treat my mum with kindness and dignity. I am kept up to date with her health and care plan. Although my mum's ability to participate in activities has waned, she is still included.
I think all the staff are lovely and very caring. My husband is being cared for extremely well, and he is happy here. I could never have the patience and dedication required to work in a care home. It must take a special kind of person, which, unfortunately, I am not. I never thought he would settle in a home, but he has been treated with such kindness that he has responded to that in a positive way.
Thank you for an amazing afternoon yesterday for our mum's 96th birthday. It was amazing! The staff made us so welcome. They are so friendly and caring. We are so grateful to you for your caring and kindness.
I'm very pleased with Mum's care over the last time she's been at Victoria Park. Mum is eating and drinking well and has not had to be readmitted to hospital over the last 11 months.
Both my mother-in-law and father-in-law reside at this facility. The care they receive is excellent and the staff when available are very attentive. On occasion, they get extremely busy and could do with a float shift to help out during the busy times of the day.
I do not know anything about running a care home, but my mother always seems happy, well-fed, clean, comfortable and all round contented. So, I feel she is being very well looked after and loved, so I am happy.
Our family were told my mum couldn't be treated anymore, she was on end-of-life care. We started, reluctantly, to look for a care home. As soon as I spoke on the phone to one of the nurses and went to visit, we had found the right place. It was a clean and happy place to be and visit. They were kind and helpful to the family and cared deeply about the care they gave my mum until she passed away.
The home is a lovely, welcoming place. All the staff are very friendly and treat you like family. Nothing is too much trouble for anyone. This has been the perfect place for my grandad to spend the last few weeks of his life.
All of the staff go above and beyond. Very friendly and polite at all times. Very welcoming environment.
Hi, having worked in the care profession for thirty years myself, I have experienced good and bad when it comes to homes for the elderly - Victoria Court Care Home, Ilkeston, deserves credit, it doesn’t have a clinical or depressing feel to it. The staff are warm but professional and the ones I've met so far, during my uncle's respite, have been amazing and happy to help wherever they can. The room my uncle is staying in is lovely and very homely. This place is an example of why people in this profession are worth so much more - by this I mean wages and recognition - thank you.
