My mum went into Brandon House as an emergency and at the time I was so grateful to the manager who facilitated the admission. As time went on I raised concerns several times regarding my mum's care. Sadly my mum has now passed away and I have formally complained to Leeds City Council regarding her
care and that a small amount of her petty cash money which was locked in the safe in the office was missing when I went to get it back. The home had no trace of the money being handed in even though I handed it in the presence of the regional manager to the manager. I don't want to comment any further due to my complaint being investigated.

On arriving at the nursing home feeling extremely distressed and unsure of what the future held I was greeted by the manager in a very positive and kind way. All staff have interacted and always have a kind and positive word. My husband's needs have all been met. The staff have gone above and beyond
the call of duty. Staff have even been known to stay back well past their finishing time. Because my husband's needs extra help. The residents I've come in contact with are happy to have interaction.
Overall, a very pleasant experience.

Its a while since I left my last review and felt I needed to as I cannot compliment the staff team at this home enough. My husband is well cared for loved by all the staff and I can sleep on a night knowing he is in good hands. Kelly the manager is very responsive she always makes time for not just
me but all residents and families. My husband loves the home cooked food and he tells me every visit how much he loves the food. The care staff go above and beyond and treat him with dignity and respect despite the challenges that they are faced with each day due to the cruel illness, dementia. I cannot recommend this home and the love and care enough to anyone who is facing the difficult decision to place their loved one into care. Thank you all at brandon . Kelly you and your team deserve a medal

Throughout September and proceeding months
I have been very happy with the care and comfort shown towards my mother
In particular one of the carers (Jayne) has been lovely towards my mother demonstrating a caring and joyful approach which has brough a smile to my mothers face.

My family-and most importantly my mum-are very happy with Brandon House (BH). Although she has only been there a month, she already feels so settled it seems much longer. Mum moved there as she is unable to live independently and is living with terminal cancer. From day one she has been cared for
with dignity, kindness, and compassion, and we feel complete confidence in her care. Her room is bright and comfortable, with her own possessions making it feel like home. She can enjoy her hobbies in her own space and, with support using a hoist and wheelchair, can also join others in the communal areas, garden, and social spaces when we visit. BH is clean, modern, smells nice, and we've been advised of exciting future plans. Mum praises the food and has regained weight after losing much during a hospital stay, which is reassuring. Every staff member has been friendly, attentive, and supportive-we are grateful for the kindness shown to both Mum and our family.

I came to visit my brother for the first time at Brandon House on 27.8.25 with my sister. I can happily say every single member of staff we met were friendly, helpful & welcoming. My brother seemed very well cared for and happy. There was a really homely feel to the place & everywhere was very clean
& tidy. His room seemed very adequate & comfortable & I left feeling he was in a good place.

My brother has been very lucky to now be under the care of Brandon House. Although noone knows BSL they have all gone out of their way to communicate successfully with him (he is profoundly deaf). Every member of staff, without exception, is kind, helpful & always making time to help us. My brother
loves his food & seems very happy with Brandon House's meals!

list ... thank you all so much for the care and attention you give my mum it is so nice to know that she's been looked after so well thank you all

It is a daunting task looking for a care home for a loved one. I can honestly say that everyone that I have met has been wonderful/welcoming people. The manager explained everything involved in the transition from hospital for my mother. Care staff have treated my mother with dignity and respect.
There are works ongoing to redecorate certain areas. The environment is very clean and welcoming. Food is cooked on site and very nice. Even though my mother's appetite is small every effort is made to encourage her to eat. A huge relief to find a homely setting with a helpful manager and great carers

I was looking for respite for my mum. The home isn't huge, but I actually liked that. Upon visiting to look around, it had a warm friendly atmosphere and the residents appeared to be happy. I noticed that none of the residents seemed to be left alone, unless in their rooms.
Attention to detail
from the manager with regards to mum's needs was brilliant and any concerns I had were put to rest.
The decor is a little dated, and not like the super modern, newer homes we've used in the past. However, it was clean and the room mum was allocated, had a lovely view of the garden.
All the staff were lovely and I was very happy and will be booking again in the future.

Your opening photo of the home shows a line of conifers running down the side of the drive which was removed four years ago to comply with a CQC request at the preceding review. The reason that the CQC asked for this was to improve the view from the resident's windows. The home has just constructed
a solid timber fence to the same line and more as the conifer hedge and the same height as the conifer hedge. The visual impact for visitors and residents who live in rooms overlooking this fence is obvious. massively worse than when the hedge was there. The bin store area of the rear car park used to be tidy, however, there are additional bins and a skip outside the bin enclosure. The visual impact for residents whose rooms overlook this area is obvious. Poor.

I enjoy visiting Brandon House because the atmosphere is always cheerful and positive. The staff are wonderful.
22 April 2024
Staff are very hard working and very caring but clearly not enough of them and feel as though my mum did not get the Dementia support which is claimed for by the home on the website and feel very let down by communication, security, medication management.
As a nursing home, I would recommend it
but for someone with needs support there needs to be some scrutiny of what the home is claiming against reality and I only hope my report to the Care Quality Commission enforces some changes. Communication is a real letdown. I would not recommend Brandon.

My mum loves the singing and is really happy. Singing all the old songs. The staff make it as happy and look happy too. That makes a difference. I feel happy too. The staff have made me feel welcome too.

Very swift response to asking to view the home and ask for a place for Mum. Lovely feel to the home and all questions answered around the previous quality mark. Nothing was too much for the staff, Mum was encouraged to take part and was included in activities. Staff were lovely with the residents.
Mum's care was fabulous and she was cared for right up until her passing. Only 5 weeks, but it was the right place.

All the staff are very helpful. They all take good care of my uncle. My uncle feels very settled and comfortable. Some of the staff do go above and beyond. A special mention must go to one staff member in particular. She has been very supportive.
