View Full Details of Halcyon CourtAlthough mum has dementia she is always happy and cheerful when we visit each week, which is a positive reflection on her care and a comfort to myself and my sister. Staff are always pleasant and helpful. Lady on reception should have a uniform! Care home manager firmly believes in "poets day"
I would like to highlight the fantastic work a member of staff has done in relation to caring for my mother. Mum was admitted to hospital in January and this carer took personal time to visit her in hospital and also championed her care as a true advocate in a large hospital. Whilst there I was in regular contact with her and we shared reports. She also followed up on return. This member of staff is a credit to herself and the caring profession she works in. As a side note, the carer has also taken it upon herself so ensure my contact with mum was initiated and continues via a messaging app as I live in Australia. Also an honourable mention to another team lead who is also very connected, knowledgeable and will use all avenues open to explore care for mum.
My learning disabled older brother has recently moved into Halcyon Court and I couldn't be more pleased with all the care that he receives from the team at Halcyon. He has settled in very well thanks to their care and the time that they spend with him to make sure that they are familiar with his needs. He leads a full active and happy life and has been far more healthy since moving in with them. He was in supported living but it was failing and I was at my wit's end but they picked up the baton and took over. All staff respond immediately to concerns raised and I couldn't be happier. If only all care providers worked as they do the world would be a better place
The manager was very efficient in responding to my request for contacting the housing association of my father who needed proof of permanent residency. This enabled us to move forwards in the background distractions of my Dad's care.
My mum was a dementia resident for approximately 3 years when sadly she passed away. The staff however, were exceptional with their care and compassion during my mum's final weeks and days. They strived to reach appropriate medical teams and professionals when she started to deteriorate to get necessary advice for her care and kept me updated every step of the way. The final days were where compassion of the highest kind was witnessed by all the care staff. They were always by her side, played her favourite music and ensured she was as comfortable as possible. My mum has been so well looked after during her time here and the staff go above and beyond for residents and their family, always with a smile on their faces! Huge thank you me for everything!
Helpful, friendly and informative staff.
I have always found the staff at Halcyon Court to be very helpful and friendly. The home is kept clean and tidy and residents appear to be happy and healthy living there. My friend has her own room so she can have some quiet time should she wish to. There is also lots of rooms to mix with other residents.
We are grateful for the welcome my friend has recieved. Thank you. I am grateful for the contact with one member of staff in particular who has been the recipient to my emails. An induction pack would have been helpful and answered the many questions we have had. It is not always clear which staff member to speak to. My friend is not always dressed in clean clothes, as he tends to replace worn underwear in drawers, perhaps if the staff could check him daily and remember for washing. I don't think his good jumpers and trousers have been washed since his arrival. Sometimes mail is just left inside the front door, so residents have been able to help themselves.
One lady is really good to me, she goes out of her way to support me, she helps me buy my clothes and footwear and she washes them for me. They always go out of their way to talk to me and support me even when I'm having bad days.
Had a horrible experience with this home after 3 falls of mum in law over 8 months. Never ever rang whilst she was in hospital to ask how she was. The last time she fell due to a carer not taking proper care to keep her safe. She ended up in hospital for last time and died 5 weeks later in nursing home. Keep an eye on your relative and make sure care plans are person centered and followed properly.
My mother has been cared for in Halcyon Court for more than three years. She turned 100 last month and the home held a lovely party for her. She received a beautiful bouquet from the CEO of Anchor. The staff are always helpful, pleasant and friendly. I feel that Mum is happy and well cared for. The gardens at Halcyon Court have improved a great deal recently. They look much better, which is important as I often take my mum outside when I visit.
We never thought we'd be able to get Mum to her only granddaughter's wedding as she's been reluctant to leave her bedroom and before home, I mentioned my worries and concerns to the manager and she was so lovely and helpful and said they would help me and the family make it possible. Whatever we wanted they would help. They had her ready and dressed with all her tablets for two nights away and when we picked her up it went so smoothly without any upset or resistance. Mum had the best time at her granddaughter's wedding and to see all the family together after two years, it was a very beautiful but emotional day. Thank you so much for making our worries fade away it meant the world to Mum and also to us. Thank you.
I find the home very supportive and the staff very helpful. My brother is well looked after and settled here. Thank you so much.
Halcyon Court is just right for my mother. The action is peaceful enough. The carers are so friendly and kind. Not pretentious just with the best for the oldies in mind. The activities are good. Tea party Tuesday, kids making easter bonnets. I'm happy my mum is in good hands. She is happy here. Thanks to all the staff!
My mum was a resident of Halcyon Court from 2021 until she passed away in July 2024. Her care has always been excellent and the care staff really care. If I had any concerns I knew they'd be addressed immediately and I got to know the management team and many of the staff on first-name terms. In her final days they really were incredible. Mum was treated with love and dignity. I and other family members spent many hours by Mum's bedside as she was in her final days and the staff took almost as much care of us as they did of Mum. We were able to come and go whenever we liked and there was always a cup of tea available. When she passed it was clear to see the love the staff had for Mum and there were many tears. We were never pressured to clear her things and Mum had asked that her 'decent' clothes be given to residents who had no family to provide for them, for which the home was delighted. Our whole family will always be grateful for what the staff at Halcyon Court did for Mum. RIP Mum
Carer care is very good and friendly, also helpful when needed.
My mum was quite poorly last week and the staff were just excellent. They organised the correct care/medical assistance for her. They kept us updated and I'm sure it is their expertise and care that have pulled her through this latest episode we are so grateful to the whole team.
The senior care and the rest of the staff are very helpful and professional understanding of my wife's needs.
I'm very happy with Halcyon Court on Anchor Care Home. Anchor, Halcyon Court are the best (at the price level they operate at). I want to thank all the staff and management for looking after my mother so well. My mother and I are very happy with the overall service. Thank you.
I have and my family have experienced kindness and understanding from staff. They are kind, the senior staff and reception have a wicked sense of humour. I feel that I could approach them about anything, especially about my mum's issues. Thank you.
