Both my parents are residents of Melford Court. They moved in a few months ago. Everyone has been very welcoming and supportive as they have transitioned into their new home. It has not always been easy, the communication between the staff and myself has been excellent, I always know what they are
doing to help my parents settle in. I visit often, and there is a warm welcome everytime. There are a wide range of activities, the residents are given a timetable so they always know what is happening for the week. The home has been very accommodating with regards to food, Mum & Dad are vegetarians, they have had several chats with the chef, and, after a few false starts, are now very happy with what is on offer. It has not been an easy few months, but with the help of everyone at Melford Court they are now settled and happy.

Care staff are brilliant. Nothing too much trouble. Had one incident with a nurse telling me mum she didn't have to go to hospital. She (mum) smelt really bad she had CDIFF. I overrode her, and my mum although bed ridden is happy and well. If I had listened to the nurse my mum would be dead 1 1/2
years ago. Prices could be a little lower especially when some residents hardly eat much food. Nurses should listen to carers as they know that residents need.

I am satisfied with Melford Court. I do think the rooms are very small. Would be difficult for patients to bring their own furniture. There is sometimes a lack of communications when the next nurse takes over due to something not being recorded.

To be completely honest we have nothing but good things to say about everyone that works at Melford Court. Each and every one of the staff are kind, friendly and caring. We visit every day and the staff always take time to speak to us and let us know how Dave is doing.

My aunt took up residence at Melford Court about 18 months ago. The team at Melford Court continue to offer excellent care and support to my aunt; and they are most diligent in keeping me informed of my aunt's wellbeing or any issues.

My dear friend has been receiving care for his complex needs at Melford Court for the past 6 months, and I couldn't be more happy with the care he is receiving. As an experienced nurse I notice everything! Melford Court has an open door policy led with compassion and kindness by the very
professional manager and deputy. From the greeting as you enter the home nothing is too much trouble.. very quickly you become relaxed knowing that your loved one is safe with a knowledgeable multidisciplinary team.

Mum continues to have fantastic care 24 hours from everyone at Melford Court. She has now been a resident for 16months, and in that time we have witnessed her ups and downs, but due to being so well looked after, she has recovered each time.
The food has improved immensely, the carers are always
on-hand and nothing is too much trouble, from the cleaning staff to the office staff. Everyone is friendly and welcoming, treating mum and all residents with love and respect.
The entertainment team provide fun and exciting daily activities, who work incredibly hard to stimulate the residents. Musicians, yoga, magicians, visiting zoos/farm animals, arts & crafts, book club, board & word games and themed events are just some of the amazing things they organise.
I visit mum most days and am truly happy that mum is where she is- you will not find a better care home for your loved one.

My Mum spent the final few months of her life at Melford Court.
The staff were amazing. They were patient and caring of both my Mum and myself. They supplied her with drinks and biscuits when she wanted them - no matter what the time of day or night!! They were there for me when I needed a
shoulder to cry on when things got too much for me as Mum neared the end of her life.
When the time came, they were respectful of Mum's wishes and made sure she was comfortable.
She was happy staying at Melford Court, and I was able to relax knowing she had the 24-hour care she needed.

All the staff are extremely friendly and look after our family member.
We are happy with the care she receives at Melford Court.
In terms of improvement, a bigger en suite in the room would be advantageous and ensure the resident is frequently checked upon for toileting needs.

Very happy with the care and support that Mum receives here at Melford Court. Mum seems to have settled very quickly. I would like to thank the nurses and carers for their help and support with Mum's anxiety.

It is a difficult situation when your parents are no longer able to look after themselves. Mum and Dad lived with my husband and myself for almost a year but despite our best efforts and a lovely relationship with them, we all four decided that care was now the only option for them and for us. It
was daunting and worrying but one day I bit the bullet and rang Melford Court, when I was invited to take a look around. It was obvious from the outset, that here was place that had caring and considerate staff. A friendly atmosphere and the warmth of those who look after the residents is evident everywhere. It is a sad fact that my parents, as others, have become more infirm, confused and frail, meaning they have moments when they behave out of character but the staff know how to deal with them kindly and in an understanding way, which gives us peace of mind. Melford Court is now my parents' home and we are grateful we have such a lovely place so local to us.

We were a little apprehensive about placing my sister in a nursing home, but we need not have worried. The staff here were fantastic, so cheerful, patient and kind. What more could anybody ask for? Thank you for caring for her, so beautifully and making her last days so peaceful. We could recommend
Helford Court to anyone.

From my first phone call to Mum's departure, the entire experience with Melford Hall has been exemplary. The staff, facilities, cleanliness and levels of care put it at the top end of my extensive experience of clinical establishments worldwide. For reference and context, I was a Medical Malpractice
Underwriter and dealt with thousands of medical establishments in over 40 countries worldwide.

The staff at Melford Court are second to none. My father is not a particularly easy person and they are all very good with him. He needs strong encouragement to do things and they are not afraid to push him slightly to keep active. The place itself is always beautifully clean and maintained, it is
light and airy and smells fresh always. The nurses are always well very friendly and happy to update me with any information I may need.

My Dad was transferred From East Suffolk Hospital to Melford Court care home as an end-of-life patient and was in quite a bad way. However, the care, companionship and support provided meant that he recovered sufficiently to go home after six months. Once my father had started to recover he greatly
enjoyed his time at Melford Court. He felt it was like a 'retreat' and, as well as improving his health, it did wonders for his mental well-being.
He had nothing but good things to say about all the staff, including everyone from the cleaners to the management team. If I could pick out one particular thing that he enjoyed the most I would have to say it was the food - he really looked forward to lunch time!
From my point of view, I found the management team extremely friendly and more than happy to answer my queries. Both my Dad and myself will miss the lovely people at Melford Court.

From the moment you walk in, you realise what a special place this is. You don't have to take my word for it. My father said 'We couldn't have found anywhere better' and my mother said 'My girls treat me like their favourite nan'. All staff are not only professional but warm and caring too. Everyone
is treated like an individual and the home actively seeks out residents' interests, food preferences etc. to help them feel at home. People are able to socialise in the lounges or outside in the beautiful garden if the weather allows. Both management and nursing staff are always available to discuss any concerns you may have. Relatives are kept informed of any issues with their loved one's health and in the case of & 'end of life' care, are gently supported alongside them through that journey.

Our mother came to Melford Court in June 23 after 6 months in hospital and rehab due to a fall. She was very frail and underweight. During her time here, she has made amazing progress and become stronger and gained weight. She was told she wouldn't walk again and needed 2 carers and a hoist on
arrival. Now, at the age of 96, she is able to start gaining a little more independence. We are delighted with Melford Court's staff and the care she has received.

I cannot believe how amazing Melford Court is! I didn’t have much faith in care home's but Melford Court is the best. I visit most days and I am never disappointed! The staff are so friendly and caring from the moment you walk through the door. I would recommend this care home to anyone.

Mum was going to go to the hospice, but there was no space. Melford Court Care Home was recommended for end-of-life care.
From the off, staff were very good and patient (Mum wasn't easy!) They were attentive and caring. All so happy to be carers and proud. It helped me cope tremendously also. The
room was set lovely when Mum passed.

We as a family can never thank them enough for everything they did. We would highly recommend them as a very caring and kind nursing home.
