I have been visiting my Aunt for over two years at Kings Court. Every time I go I am welcomed by the lovely staff and usually see my Aunt in the shared lounge. She is happy and greets me with a smiling face. My Aunt is well cared for, her hair is always brushed and washed and cut regularly. She is
well dressed, clean and warm with a rug over her knees. She has company around her and the other residents interact from time to time. There are lots of varied activities. I have helped my Aunt take part in regular Bingo and daily exercise in her chair as she has limited mobility. Meals are provided in the dining room and the food is freshly cooked and delicious with Three courses and good portions. Hot drinks are provided throughout the day and home baked snacks.
Sometimes residents are taken out on visits eg for a coffee in town or a show at the local theatre, or church service. Or further afield , maybe the seaside or garden centre.
My Aunt has settled well into life at Kings Court.

Our mam really enjoyed her stay at The Kings Court, her first few nights were a bit hard but the staff were great with her really made her feel safe and at ease which is what she needed. Would have loved her to carry on staying there as she had made some lovely friends but sadly they had no
availability and we really needed it quite quickly.

Fantastic staff, so friendly and like having family members caring doe our loved one. It's nice to see the home getting updated and decorated however the lounge area could do with being regularly monitored i.e cleaned and tidied. Also if it is possible to have air fresheners dotted around the home
as some walk areas can be quite pointiont (around the office and near the lift/snug area).

My mam went into Kings Court in May 25 initially for three weeks respite before going into hospital for an operation, the care mam ger there was excellent and mam settled straight away, with the staff even moving mam to a bigger room to meet her needs, after the opp it became obvious mam could not
go back to her own home to look after herself, the family didn't hesitate to see if mam could go back to Kings Court, when mam returned the staff made mam so welcome. Again, the day care mam gets there is second to none, and the staff and management there are so patient and understanding of mams needs and on 30th July the put on an amazing afternoon tea for mam's 92nd birthday inviting all her family to attend, there is plenty of activities for those who want to take part, Kings Court is a lovely place where. I would highly recommend to anyone needing 24/7 care.

My sister and I had been concerned about our brother's mental health when, twice in one week, he got lost so we knew we had to take action in finding him a place where he'd be safe and given the proper care which we were unable to offer.
After two recommendations from friends we got in touch and
were immediately welcomed. I was impressed with the decor and high level of cleanliness but also, during a meeting with the manageress, I was asked many relevant questions that showed the care he got would be very much personalised.
Walking around the home I noticed that not only the residents had a general air of being happy and content .. the staff were also smiling as they worked. We are simply delighted our brother is being cared for so very well and even more delighted the level of care is outstanding. And the food ... out of this world! We are able to visit any time we like and have told our brother it's so nice he might just find us living there too. Five Stars plus!

The 3wks that my mam has been in for respite in Kings Court most of the time mam has been happy and the staff gave been good with her. Like everyone mam has good days and bad but the staff have tried to encourage her 2 join invite the activities she can do and also for going down to the restaurant.
Mam does sometimes likes to spend time on her own and if this what she wants at time the staff are ok with that. While we have visited her we have been made welcomed and offered tea, coffee etc with mam.
After mams operation mam might have to go into a home and if possible we would like her to go back in there.

A year ago I would have said that you couldn't improve on perfection. But fast forward 12 months and it has been wonderful to see how new management haven't let the grass grow under their feet and have constantly strived to find new ways of making KC a thriving hub of activity that includes and
involves everyone from residents to staff to family and community.
The Men's Den is a fantastic initiative for example. Also the new in home shop which is such a lovely thought to enable residents to feel able to buy things without going into town.
With the home at near full occupancy at the moment there is a lively buzz to the lounge area and the - sometimes maligned in other homes- set up of the circle of chairs works wonderfully with residents and famijy far more able and willing to socialise and see each other.
2 years into MILs residency and we still have that wonderful feeling of knowing everything is under control, she is safe, cared for and happy.
We couldn't ask for more.

The care my relative received in Kings Court was excellent. She was cared for with genuine affection and staff took their time to ensure they met her needs. During her time there she was involved in lots of activities, and seeing the photographs of her smiling and involved was a real pleasure. She
was well fed, had meaningful activities and was treated with dignity.
Though she recently passed away, staff showed her kindness right to the end and were supportive to family who were attending, taking the time to pay their respects. Their many kindnesses were really appreciated.

The manager and her team continue to deliver excellent care to Mum. She has flourished since coming into King's Court and every member of the team is enthusiastic and positive whilst with the residents. I can't single any particular carer out as everyone seems to know Mum and understand her needs.
She enjoys being with her fellow residents and doing the various activities available which are many and varied. Mum always looks clean, tidy and well-dressed just as she would want. She enjoys the food and her room is well maintained although I think she only sleeps there, preferring to spend time in the lounge with her friends. Thank you, everyone, at King's Court, we very much appreciate the support, care and kindness you show mum.

I am so happy with the care and friendship my Mam has received from the staff at King's Court. She was really struggling at home before she moved in last year and is so much happier now. She receives fantastic care and has the support she needs to join in with lots of activities to keep her body and
mind active. The home is in the former King's Head Hotel in Barnard Castle Market Place, has good facilities and it is nice that the residents can watch all the comings and goings in the town from the lounge window.

My dad was a resident here and I was so impressed with the facilities, the cleanliness and the friendliness of the staff. In the lounge area there was a choice of cold drinks for the residents to access at all times something that wasn't available at his previous care home. If my dad was in his room
the staff would check if he wanted a hot drink and would regularly check that he was ok with a bit of chat. Bringing my young children to see their Grandad was never an issue and the staff would chat with them making us all feel welcome. Overall, the staff were respectful, kind and caring.

I cannot speak highly enough of Kings Court. Although quirky in design, it feels warm & homely with small touches standing out. The staff are second to none, every member of staff you meet greets you with a smile & makes you welcome. You can genuinely see they care about their residents, they treat
them with dignity & respect & like their own. They laugh with them, take time to listen to them & they truly 'know' their residents. My dad came to Kings Court this year from another care home where he was so withdrawn & deteriorating. Moving here was the best thing for him, we only wish we'd been able to do it sooner. His room was so lovely and homely & as a family it was lovely for us all to visit him somewhere he was happy & content. He loved all the staff & you watched the cheeky smile come across his face when he listened to their banter & when they joked along with him. They did their absolute best for him, they pushed for anything & everything to help him. He was truly happy here.

My husband was in Kings Court for only a couple of months but he was so happy to be there. Everyone was so patient, friendly and caring towards him. He was encouraged to participate in the varied activities which he enjoyed, and enjoyed the food which was just like home cooking. The building/rooms
were always clean and homely - very much a home from home environment. From my perspective, I found the staff professional, approachable and friendly. I was kept up to date with his progress/changes. They were quick to pick up when my husband was unwell /deteriorating and referred him appropriately. Nothing was too much trouble. His care was excellent . I can't praise King Court enough for their care, compassion and communication.

Kings Court is a "home from home" for our mum. She is very happy there and loves the staff. She loves to socialise in her own way and joins in with various activities. We are delighted with the new manager, who has not been in the position long. She is approachable, and nothing is too much trouble.
Thank you, Kings Court.

Can't say and praise this home and staff enough. What a great place with pleasant caring staff and leadership. Nothing is ever too much bother and they are always so welcoming. As a family, we are so grateful for the care our mother has received over the past 2+ years. I would also like to say how
accommodating and caring they have been and continue to be towards our father who goes in almost daily. Thank you!

Mum has just finished her 6-week respite stay after coming out of hospital, but after 3 weeks stay she has decided that she felt so well cared for that she is going to stay permanently. As a family, we feel Mum is back to herself, engaging well with other residents, enjoying all the activities but
especially enjoying the food.
Finally, thank you to all the staff (carers, admin, catering, housekeeping and maintenance|.
