My wife stayed at Stonecross for approximately 5 weeks. During that time, she was exceptionally well looked after during respite care. The staff were outstanding considering the number of dementia patient residents. The rooms and facilities were spotlessly clean. However, the building as a whole is
very old and could do much to lighten up. Particularly "the orange room" which could do with overhauling. Curtains are old and broken. Double doors to the garden need replacing.

Dad was only in Stonecross for a few weeks and had quite specific needs. The team at the home were all very attentive, showing care and compassion at all times. On the day that dad passed away, they were particularly supportive, and I can't thank them enough on behalf of the family.

Medication was not administered. Mum left in a wet nappy. Staff just on phones ignoring residents. Bins not working and overflowing, shower broken. Only once hand towel provided. Blanket had holes. Bedding stained (blood and urine) Buzzer out of reach to use. Food was disgusting. Biscuits for
breakfast, often just soup and sandwich for meal times.

Friendly and welcoming reception. Dated building with steep stairs. Maze of rooms must make it difficult for staff!

Stonecross is a friendly and caring home where there is always staff available if I need to ask about my Mum, or if she needs a bit of extra support. Both the care and support staff seem to know all the residents well and work together to make Stonecross a 'real home'. The activity staff organise
individual activities but it's also great that young people are coming in to both entertain and interact with the residents. The staff always keep me up to date with any issues, which helps me to know that my Mum is safe, happy and well cared for.
