NAZARETH HOUSE.
From the moment we went to view the property/accommodation, it was clear that this is by far the nicest we had seen.
Upon entering the building ,for me you could already see the place was extremely clean.
The staff and service user all seemed happy.
As far as my mom's care over
the two and a half years residence, Impeccable care was given to her.
Well appointed room, yes the building is quite old fashioned but boy do they make the best of it. Freshly decorated always.
In my opinion ,you will be hard pressed to better the care given here.
Clear communication with us if ever mom needed anything, medical or personal.
The menus are changed daily and displayed on tables, good choices all round.
well supervised activities for all residents
There is always something going on, whether light physical activity or singalong sessions with the wonderful performers they bring in.
I can not fault this establishment .
Thank you on mom's behalf.

Bless you all

My mum passed away peacefully this weekend after spending over two and a half years at Nazareth House. Mum had advanced dementia and needed full nursing care to meet her needs. As a family we feel blessed that she was part of the community here during this time and we are so thankful for the kind,
compassionate, person centred care she received.
Mum was happy and content during her time at Nazareth House, she loved spending time in the large garden and taking part in the wide variety of activities that were organised. The staff are really friendly, considerate and treat the residents with dignity and respect. They got to know mum well during this time and as a family we felt a real bond with everyone. It was sad to say goodbye today because we felt so welcome and involved but we have many happy memories from mum's time here.
I would warmly recommend Nazareth House to anyone and want to express our heartfelt thanks to the wonderful staff team who make a real difference every day.

Overall the experience has been very positive. The staff are very friendly and work with the residents to ensure they are comfortable and get the most out of their home at Nazareth House. The activities are fun but also beneficial for wellbeing and exercise. It would be good to see more activities
over a weekend but appreciated there are not so many staff on duty. Would be happy to recommend Nazareth House to others.

My wife has been resident at Nazareth House for more than two and a half years now. She has advanced dementia and needs full-time residential care.
She has been very comfortable and well cared for. The staff are genuinely caring and the nursing home is well managed. Communications with the staff
have always been good.
She enjoys taking part in the activities that are organised for the residents.
Her particular pleasure is spending time in the beautiful, large garden. Even on the days when she is struggling more than usual, she always perks up when I take her into the garden in her wheelchair.
Her room is not big, but is very adequate for her needs. She doesn't spend a lot of the daytime in her room.
My wife is very content at Nazareth House and I can't imagine a better place for her, under the circumstances.
07 May 2026
Caring staff who know my mum well. Any concerns are addressed. One nurse who was very abrupt and always on the computer has since left. Other nurses are conscientious and hard working. Relay concerns to the gp's.

My Aunt became a resident at Nazareth House recently and my wife and I are delighted with the care she is receiving. Our Aunt was really struggling to cope on her own at home and that challenge manifested itself in her increasing poor wellbeing She is so much happier now at Nazareth House. The wrap
around care she receives is exemplary; the staff are caring, respectful and empathetic to her. Despite her challenges she has really embraced all that Nazareth House has to offer her My wife and I are thrilled our aunt is in receipt of great care and are grateful to all the staff there for their dedication towards her

It's a pleasure to complete this review, relating to the care my wife has received at this home for nearly two years. She has advanced Alzheimer's dementia and cannot talk, walk, or feed herself. She is also doubly incontinent. Nowhere is perfect, but I regard the manner in which she is cared for as
a real blessing - and relief! The manager, visiting GP, nurses, carers, and support staff are such an encouragement. Many go the extra mile, as they see or anticipate my wife's immediate or long-term needs. This is so crucial, because she cannot communicate normally. The Sisters of Nazareth support the staff by displaying loving - and sometimes practical - concern. This greatly enhances the holistic nature of the caring experience at Nazareth House.
The well cared for garden area is a tranquil oasis, giving us - and many others - a breath of fresh air in more ways than one!

Both my parents have been in Nazareth House for around 18 months. My Dad has vascular Dementia and my mum has Alzheimer's. The staff there are lovely and appear to genuinely enjoy their roles in Naz House. It was a bit of a struggle keeping my parents together but Teresa the Manager was very
helpful and more than happy to accommodate my parents. They have a bedroom and sitting room, rooms next door to each other. They are both very happy in themselves and always look clean and tidy. I would recommend Naz House 100% and you can rest assured your parent or whoever it is going to Naz House will be properly cared for.

It was always a worry for me having to move my Mum into a nursing home but after her last fall it was apparent that she needed more care.
This home is like home from home for her and also us when we visit. The people who work there are truly amazing, they always have a kind word and a smile and
nothing is to much trouble for them.
The garden is beautiful and i always take her for tea and cake outside, we could be in the middle of the countryside and who would think we are in the centre of Cardiff.
My Mum enjoys the activities and is always encouraged to join in with everything. Everyone calls her Mrs Tea Pot because she loves her cup of tea.
Mum has a lovely room which i have decorated with all her pictures and she has a lovely view of the garden.
Thank you everyone for putting my mind at rest that she is being so well cared for.
You are truly angels.

Mum went into Nazareth House Cardiff and she loves it there , mums got all her faculties but she's bed ridden and needs to be fed , mum has got to know all the staff and loves the care she's given. Mum was brought up just up the road from Nazareth House and knows the area well. Mum tells me she
feels so safe there and couldn't be happier. Everyone is so polite and friendly towards us as a family and we're all glad that the decision was made for mum to be expected.

My mum has just become a full time resident at Nazareth House and my family could not be happier with the service we have received and the care my mum is getting. She is so settled and happy with the move. The care my sister and I have witnessed has been amazing and the staff have been so friendly
and professional with all of us.
I also so pleased with the new app as I am not local and I love the daily updates and hope to see photos of events as I cannot visit often and this way I get a glimpse of mums new life.
Thank you again for making this hard transition so easy for us especially my mum. She has gone from being withdrawal and to being stimulated and engaged. I only have good things to say.

To start, it is an exceptionally beautiful building with the impressive and glorious church on the first floor that runs regular services and rock concerts is a real plus. The grand rooms that offer lots of entertainment, crafts, films and games, are fantastic. Most of all I praise the staff as they
are truly caring and exceptionally attentive. I relax and have peace of mind that my mum is truly in the best hands.
The care home manager is very professional, kind and runs a tight ship.

My friend is now in Nazareth House having suffered strokes which have medically caused him to be unable to walk and sleep a lot. I have found the care staff excellent when I have visited. I have offered tea and biscuits during the mornings but not meals. The home is clean and welcoming.

When we knew that my dad would require residential nursing care we were anxious about finding the right place for him and ensuring that he was properly cared for. We needn't have worried because as soon as he went into Nazareth House we knew that it was the right place for him. The staff were lovely
and the care he received was excellent. His room was well-equipped, and he was at his happiest when we were able to take him outside into the beautiful gardens.
Our thanks go to everyone at Nazareth House for everything you did for him.

My mother was a resident on the Nursing Floor for over 5 years, before she died last month at the grand old age of 98. Mum had lost her mobility and suffered from dementia. The staff there provided very good care for Mum throughout, combining highly professional nursing with loving and supportive
care. The warm, kind and skilled way they all operated ensured Mum was comfortable and happy. They ensured she was up and involved in activities and meals everyday, whenever fit to do so. Mum was always treated with dignity and respect.
The wider group of staff of Nazareth House and the volunteers were equally friendly and helpful and provided activities which brought great satisfaction and pleasure, especially the quizzes, games, singing and taking her out into the lovely gardens. The open and welcoming approach to visitors was very helpful in enabling her disparate family to see her.
Thank you to everyone at Nazareth House for making Mum's last years so happy and comfortable.

I have always found the staff at Nazareth House to be very kind and caring and willing to help out should any problems occur. The activities are always well attended and everyone seems to be enjoying themselves. The food is very good and varied. The kindness of the staff, the chapel, the lovely
gardens and the grotto have all contributed to my brother being able to adjust to living in the care home after he had to leave his own home.

My mother has been a resident for more than two years. They have an 'open door' policy and I am able to visit at any time. Residents special needs are always taken into consideration and all residents I have seen are always treated with care and respect. The carers take extra care to include all
residents in any activities taking place. The home is currently undertaking some decorating/rewiring etc. and every effort is made to avoid disruption to other residents and visitors.

The care provided by the home is excellent. Residents are treated with dignity, and it is a very friendly, happy environment. The food is excellent, and there is a choice for residents. Activities are well organised, including sports sessions and choir. If there are any concerns, these are dealt
with immediately by the general manager. The home has beautiful gardens, and residents are encouraged to use them. Facilities and rooms are very clean, and there is a homely feeling about the house.

A good friend of mine was a resident at Nazareth House for about 18 months.
Previously he lived on his own and was refusing the care he very much needed.
We eventually persuaded him that he needed on going care
after being found collapsed.
He was reluctant but eventually agreed the way forward. Thanks to links to Nazareth House this was his choice.
He settled in quite quickly thanks to the wonderful staff, priests and nuns.
They cared for him and we were able to rest a lot easier,
His named carer was exceptional, the staff who delivered care got to know him and worked at his pace.
The manager was great, very approachable, his diet improved they worked with his GP and hospital appointments.
Thank you so much for caring for my friend.
