I am more than pleased with the nursing home. Its friendly, clean and modern. The staff are great and very friendly and helpful. The residents are well looked after, with entrainment to stimulate their minds and exercise for their bodies where possible. The food is very good and tasty (I have had
lunch there myself). With a good selection of juice.

The staff at the Withens have looked after my mother since April 2025. She is bedridden and very deaf, but the carers and all other staff treat her well, making sure she understands what they are saying. She is comfortable and stays in her bed most of the time, and looks forward to visits from her
family. Her room is a good size with room to make it look homely. All staff are always happy to help with any queries or observations we have. Very pleased with the care and support.

Mum has been at the Withens about a yr now. In that year I have found them caring and thorough. Mum has dementia and health issues and can be very hard work at times but they just carry on normally giving the excellent care they always have. She has a lovely room where she can look out the window at
the farm animals across the road. There has been staff changes recently and this has confused her a little as Brian (home handy man) no longer says hello in the morning and she misses this but it's getting easier. The entertain over the Christmas period was amazing with lots of fun things in the calendar for the December month. Although mum didn't attend all the things when she was there she enjoyed watching everyone take part. I can't thank the carers enough for the care, consideration and patience when looking after mum.

My mother-in-law has been at the home for the last 8 months. During this period of time, I have found her to be happy and content. The staff I have found to be conscientious and concerned about her wellbeing and health, they are an asset to the home. The new manager is engaging, empathetic, and
always available if and when needed.

My mother in law like most of the staff but sometimes her mind has replace their faces with people she is not keen on, and in that situation they excel. The nurses are patient and offer great care. Even the receptionist is brilliant as she reminds her of her friend from when she was 13. They could
improve with an added cleaners or extra 3 - 4 carers just to help as they seems to be run off their feet.

My brother was admitted to 'Withens Nursing Home' from hospital to a 6 week assessment bed. The 'room' was extremely small, only big enough to take a single bed and a wardrobe with a sink. No chairs! He had only one window with no overlook except a tree. He had a diagnosis of emphysema.
Unfortunately, he passed away suddenly on Wednesday, the 9th of April unexpectedly. I had informed the nursing staff on Monday that he was chesty and coughing. The manager is not a nice person; his personality was awful. The care staff were wonderful. The nurses were mostly arrogant and did not in my opinion, do their best of care. I was my brother's next of kin. If I had known what an awful place it is I would've fought more to move him. I do not see one of the residents out of bed any time.

A fabulous care home with fabulous staff. It was warm and welcoming and treated my dad with dignity and respect.

All the staff at Withens Nursing Home, managers, nurses, carers, maintenance & chef are fantastic. Attentive and empathetic and truly understands my dad's complicated needs. I couldn't wish my dad to be anywhere else. Rooms, facilities, safety, food & drink and more couldn't be better. The key thing
is knowing your loved one is safe, warm and cared for.
A+++++ thank you.

Mum moved into Withens on the 16th of December. And our first impressions have been very positive. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, both to Mum and us the family. The home itself is also bright and airy with plenty of room. But most importantly the level of care seems excellent.

I have been visiting The Withens Nursing Home for a few months to see my friend. I have always been made to feel welcome. The home is genuinely a home from home to the residents who are so well cared for. From the carers to the activities they really do try to cater for everyone. My friend is
encouraged to join other residents in the lounge where they have many activities but on days when she feels like staying in her room the staff visit regularly to check on her and always with a smile.

We chose this home for Mum because it felt instantly homely and welcoming. All staff that I've met have been friendly, helpful and genuinely caring and even though Mum is bed-bound and can't take part in activities, the lovely activities staff do come in to chat to her too. We particularly liked the
fact that some staff have been at Withens for many years. Mum's dietary needs are well catered for, the food is good and freshly cooked on the premises daily, there's always plenty on offer, even if it's not on the menu. Mum's room (with lovely garden view) seemed to have been freshly decorated before arrival and every effort was made by the caretaker to help make her room and outlook personalised, hanging pictures and he even put fairy lights up for her! It's been two months since Mum came here and I honestly feel we made the right and best choice in homes for her in our area. Thank you all.

My mother joined Withens at the end of August and I must say how impressed I am with her care so far. Any teething problems were quickly resolved by the superb management and the whole team. The fact that some of the staff have been at Withens for over 20 years speaks volumes. The food is
excellent, and the ongoing refurbishments are making it even more comfortable for all of the residents and their families. Making it more like a home-from-home rather than a nursing home. Carry on doing what you are doing!

My dad was with you for 2 years. He loved everyone who looked after him, especially the ones who would pop a chocolate in his mouth as they passed his room. We could not have wished for a better home for him. Staff that genuinely did care. I would highly recommend Whithens.

Mum seems to have settled here well. The staff and carers are doing a great job. My only concern is I don't see any interaction with the other residents, but that may well be Mum's own wishes. She was always very social but now seems a little isolated. But on the whole, Withens is doing a good job.

Every time we visit the staff are always friendly and accommodating. The facilities are very good and everything clean (no nasty wee smells). My sister is well cared for which is what is most important for all.
