My mother has been shown nothing but care and compassion. The staff that I have met are engaging and dedicated to making my mum feel happy and part of a family. To quote her, they cannot do enough for her, and it does feel like home. This can only be good for her well-being and mental health.
Therefore, I have only praise for the staff and facilities provided.

Generally all staff are friendly and respectful. My wife is being looked after as required, i.e., feeding, giving medicine, cleaning and changing regularly on time. She seems to be comfortable in the home.

I appreciate that Withens Nursing Home is located in a very old- fashioned building, but feel the interior needs a lot of updating. The rooms are adequate but shabby, and some of the furnishings are hardly fit for purpose. Overall, the staff are good and very helpful, always pleasant. My husband has
not gone from his room, so I cannot comment on activities.

I am generally satisfied with the care my mother receives. She often says that when she uses the emergency call button, particularly at night, no one comes to her aid. I sometimes feel that mum's hair and nails are dirty, and her table and the floor need cleaning. On the positive side, I feel that
the staff are caring and do their best as they are often short of time. Most of them have a happy and upbeat nature, which helps to keep mum happy.

Kellie the receptionist made myself and daughter feel very welcome when we spontaneously visited the place. Our mum was being discharged from hospital. She had 2 strokes in 8 months. Our wish was we hope she goes to a nice, clean, caring home. Gurpreet the manager is excellent, very efficient in
answering all our questions. The team and nursing staff are very caring and helpful - highly recommend, 5 stars!

Sadly, my mum passed away on the 30th January 2026. For the 6 and a half years she was a resident at the Withens she was treated with the best of care, dignity and love from the staff at all times up until the end of anyone who is thinking of putting a loved one in care I would highy recommend the
Withens we could not have wished for our mum, nan and great nan to have been anywhere better.

I am more than pleased with the nursing home. Its friendly, clean and modern. The staff are great and very friendly and helpful. The residents are well looked after, with entrainment to stimulate their minds and exercise for their bodies where possible. The food is very good and tasty (I have had
lunch there myself). With a good selection of juice.

The staff at the Withens have looked after my mother since April 2025. She is bedridden and very deaf, but the carers and all other staff treat her well, making sure she understands what they are saying. She is comfortable and stays in her bed most of the time, and looks forward to visits from her
family. Her room is a good size with room to make it look homely. All staff are always happy to help with any queries or observations we have. Very pleased with the care and support.

Mum has been at the Withens about a yr now. In that year I have found them caring and thorough. Mum has dementia and health issues and can be very hard work at times but they just carry on normally giving the excellent care they always have. She has a lovely room where she can look out the window at
the farm animals across the road. There has been staff changes recently and this has confused her a little as Brian (home handy man) no longer says hello in the morning and she misses this but it's getting easier. The entertain over the Christmas period was amazing with lots of fun things in the calendar for the December month. Although mum didn't attend all the things when she was there she enjoyed watching everyone take part. I can't thank the carers enough for the care, consideration and patience when looking after mum.

My mother-in-law has been at the home for the last 8 months. During this period of time, I have found her to be happy and content. The staff I have found to be conscientious and concerned about her wellbeing and health, they are an asset to the home. The new manager is engaging, empathetic, and
always available if and when needed.

My mother in law like most of the staff but sometimes her mind has replace their faces with people she is not keen on, and in that situation they excel. The nurses are patient and offer great care. Even the receptionist is brilliant as she reminds her of her friend from when she was 13. They could
improve with an added cleaners or extra 3 - 4 carers just to help as they seems to be run off their feet.

My brother was admitted to 'Withens Nursing Home' from hospital to a 6 week assessment bed. The 'room' was extremely small, only big enough to take a single bed and a wardrobe with a sink. No chairs! He had only one window with no overlook except a tree. He had a diagnosis of emphysema.
Unfortunately, he passed away suddenly on Wednesday, the 9th of April unexpectedly. I had informed the nursing staff on Monday that he was chesty and coughing. The manager is not a nice person; his personality was awful. The care staff were wonderful. The nurses were mostly arrogant and did not in my opinion, do their best of care. I was my brother's next of kin. If I had known what an awful place it is I would've fought more to move him. I do not see one of the residents out of bed any time.
