Bernhard Baron is a wonderful care home with very kind and caring staff who give my mother superb care and attention. Nothing is too much trouble. We all feel very grateful that my mother was given a place in BB. All the staff respect her privacy and allow her to conduct her life in the way that she wishes. Definitely well managed and 5 star organisation.

The home has been caring for mother for many years and she is happy and settled there. The staff are kind and attentive and very helpful when I visit as I usually join my mother for lunch. The management keep me up to date with my mother's condition via email which is very useful.

Bernhard Baron is an excellent care home that provides dignified care for its residents while encouraging them to retain as much autonomy as possible. The medical care is pragmatic and effective, they have helped my mother through a range of issues and have great experience within the staff across most aspects of physical and mental wellbeing. They get to know their residents on a personal level, and are thus able to tailor their care to what is really needed. The activities seem quite varied and energising, and residents are free to partake as much as they want to. The food seems to be good and they are able to cater for eating difficulties as well. The place is always spotless and well maintained. I live quite far away so I really appreciate being contacted when necessary. They judge when it is appropriate to do that very effectively. I feel very happy that my mum is living at this care home!

This is a brilliant care home. Clean, bright, good food, a range of activities and interests, active participation with the residents and beautiful grounds. However, the most important thing of all is the responsive and responsible staff who obviously know and care for all the residents with considerable knowledge and skill. My father in law is happy and content so all the family are too.

There is no cure for my disease but the care I receive is second to none. I feel safe in this care home and help when needed is always available. I count myself very fortunate that the support I have attends to all areas of life, the food is imaginative and delicious and my room looks out onto a lovely garden.

My uncle and aunt moved into Bernhard Baron in June 2023, initially for a trial period. It had long been their desire to move into this care home as they had known several of the residents and heard very good reports about the staff and ethos of the home. They were each given their own room very close to each other. When my sister and I visited them, they were always very pleased with the care that they were receiving and felt they had made the right choice. The staff were described as being very friendly, patient, and caring and they particularly enjoyed meeting up with other residents in the dining room. My uncle took an active part in organising worship on Sundays and also enjoyed being part of the singing group. Sadly my uncle passed away earlier this year so my aunt has found it quite difficult coming to terms with her new situation. However, we have been particularly pleased with the care and understanding that the staff have shown during this period.

Mum has been a cottage resident for nearly a year now and we are very pleased that she made the decision to join the Bernhard Baron community. My experience of the staff are that they are caring and considerate. I believe mum enjoys the meals, they sound very good. Mum has made friends with other residents and she enjoys the outings. I am delighted that she is lucky enough to be so well cared for.

In our opinion Bernhard Baron Care Home is unique in terms of its ethos, facilities, layout and gardens. The food is excellent, being imaginative and varied and the chefs cater for all tastes and diets with great flair. As 'independent' residents we have not taken advantage of all the many outings and indoor entertainment on offer but these are many and varied. BBCH is much more 'homely' than some of the up-market care homes we looked at in Eastbourne and we are very content and happy in our 'new home'!

The Whole process of Mum moving in has been very smooth and welcoming and all the staff have been wonderful particularly one member of staff. It could not have been any easier for Mum to transition into her lovely new home. Many thanks.

My mother has been resident in one of the cottages since April 2023 and is very happy. The mix of self reliance with care available if required suits her. The gardens are beautifully planned and maintained. There are always plenty of activities and special events such as VE Day are always celebrated really well. All staff are friendly, caring and welcoming.

Dad was taken into hospital after a fall and hitting his head. The staff kept me informed over the telephone daily (I live in Spain) when I did arrive I cannot fault the care and attention they provided and still do.

My Parents have moved to Bernhard Baron Care Home a few months ago and we are all so happy . The staff are so friendly and are all amazing from the office to the maintenance and gardeners and the kitchen and cleaners and care staff . As for the residents who all made my parents feel so welcome and happy , total proof that this is a very caring happy environment . The food is delicious and staff eat and socialise with the residents at meal times which is wonderful. They offer lots of trips out in their mini bus as well as in house activities . The rooms are all different and offer different views of the lovely walk around the garden grounds . My Dad even has a fish pond right near his room which he loves . We are so pleased to be part of the family.

I love Bernhard Baron for the way it allows the Residents, my Mum and Dad, to grow with the interesting activities they have and allowing peoples ideas to become reality. Everyone is SO nice and warm when you talk to them and always extremely helpful and the Carers always try to make things happen. Mum and Dad love it and are so happy. Thank you Bernhard Baron.

It is a real comfort knowing our mum is being so well cared for. All the staff are so friendly and nothing is too much trouble. She has a lot of visitors, friends and family who are also made to feel very welcome so the transition from her own home to Bernhard Baron Care Home has been made so much easier. Mum has already made several friends and joins in several of the activities as well as being on the residents' committee.

My mum has been a resident for six months. She initially found the transition from home to care quite difficult but the staff were fantastically supportive and patient. They have gone out of their way to ensure that everything specifically suits my mum and they continue to do everything possible to ensure her well being. She has just thoroughly enjoyed her first Christmas at the home and is now looking forward to the continued care and activities in 2025. From our perspective, we find that all the staff are extremely welcoming when we visit, and I really appreciate the way they keep me updated. As a family, we have been very impressed with the care - in fact another family member has also expressed an interest in joining the waiting list.

I have completed two years living at Bernhard Baron Care Home in a warm and comfortable cottage close to the main building, which contains the residential component of the home. Bernhard Baron Care Home is distinguished by a caring philosophy embraced by all members of staff. It creates a warm, nurturing and supportive environment that comes as close as humanly possible to the ideal of person-centred care. Bernhard Baron Care Home has been owned by a charitable (non-profit-making) trust for almost eighty years. Trustees are visible and accessible to residents. The home's managers are vigilant but unobtrusive, decisive in emergencies, creating an environment of calmness and order that enables residents to flourish. Residents elect a committee that meets managers monthly to discuss the running of the home. There are spacious and well-maintained grounds for elderly strollers. A stimulating programme of activities is available. The food is excellent with creative vegetarian alternatives to the changing daily menu. I hope to spend the rest of my life here.

The care at Bernhard Baron is second to none. Everyone is so kind and caring. My mother is very happy there and she is amazingly well looked after. They contact me if there are any problems or worries and I trust the staff completely to make the right decisions in my mother's best interests. The staff are always willing to chat which is very important for my mother as she is a sociable person and this has contributed to her happiness.

My mother moved into Bernhard Baron Care Home in January 2024 and since that time the care she has received has been exemplary. Staff always have a smile and a cheerful greeting and nothing is ever too much trouble. If there is a medical concern, they always notify me - either by direct conversation or by phone. Prescribed medication is always given at the correct time of day and a careful watch is kept if there are any health concerns. Staff ensure that Mum's personal hygiene is good and she is encouraged to have frequent showers and washes. Her clothes are laundered frequently and her bed linen and towels are kept fresh at all times. Mum reports that the food is generally excellent with plenty of choice at each meal. The entertainment laid on at Bernhard Baron is excellent and is designed to appeal to all tastes with regular trips out to parks, shops, the seafront and coffee shops. As you step into this care home, you can feel its sense of community and spirit.

My mum is 98-years-old and has been a resident at Bernhard Baron Care Home and cottages since January 2024. I am so happy with the home. The staff are all excellent and supportive to my mum, her relatives and friends. The care the residents receive is outstanding. Mum is so happy there, it's like an extension of her own family. I can't recommend the home highly enough.

Bernhard Baron Care Home has been exceptional in so many ways. My father was given the best care. The staff work as a team and they treat residents as they would their own family. Every effort is made to allow residents to feel at home and at the centre of their care. My father had a lovely room looking onto the garden. The gardens are beautiful. We visited often and it was always welcoming and felt a happy and calm place. I have been to many care homes and this one feels different, more like a community where both staff and residents seem to know that it is a special place. My father was listened to and respected at every stage. Towards the end of his life, the staff were just wonderful. He was given love and support and he was so reassured knowing that his choices would be respected. The care at Bernard Baron enabled my father to have the ending he had wished for, with family at his side. We are so thankful and can't recommend Bernard Baron highly enough!
