View Full Details of Winters Park Care HomeI visited mum twice this week, and each time I come through the front door, I am greeted with friendliness and warmth. Mum is usually sitting in the lounge watching TV or dozing in her chair. She is comfortable and warm, and there is usually plenty going on to keep her engaged with her surroundings. The carer has just handed us a cup of tea and pink wafer biscuits - lovely! All the staff are kind and interested in the mum's life and family. She is settling down, even though it's taken a little while with our sad circumstances, I am happy that Mum is safe and well cared for. Thank you.
Our mum moved into Winters Park in October 2024, she has dementia, we lost dad and the house that they lived in and we took on their dogs so there was a lot of change within a few weeks. Her moving to the home was absolutely the best thing for her (and us) it took a few difficult weeks but she is now very settled and more engaged than we have seen for a long time and joins in with all the activities her mind may be deteriorating but she is physically quite fit.
Fabulous care for both my late father and now my mum. Staff show care, compassion and provide a safe, dignified environment. The staff are inclusive and communicate well with family members. Excellent care.
I visit each week and have always been made welcome by the staff, etc. As far as I'm concerned, the place is lovely.
I have found the management and staff at Winters Park extremely helpful and friendly. I am full of admiration for the way they build up relationships and interact with the residents. At all times, I have felt my husband is being given the best possible care in a safe and caring environment.
Winter's Park is a very caring and friendly place. The rooms are kept clean, linen and clothes laundered and looked after. The food is good quality and varied. The programme for the week shows enterprise in its activities. Whereas the management is unobtrusive, the staff are most obliging, helpful and friendly and make you feel welcome. Si the residents are treated with the dignity they deserve, you know they are safe, secure and loved. The overall experience is good value for money.
Mum is a reluctant resident who has memory problems. It has taken five weeks to accept that she needs full-time care. The staff have won her over, the level of care and support is excellent. Mum is always clean and tidy. Mum enjoys the organised activities.
I've visited the resident on a number of occasions and what is striking is the service mindset of the staff and the extent to which they are customer-focused. Staff are professional, accommodating and caring, the food is excellent (I've had some of it myself), the activities are plentiful and varied and appear to be much appreciated by all (even if not all residents are participating) and very well facilitated by a dedicated person. The fact they have a resident cat and a visiting dog adds to the personal character of the place.
The staff are fantastic. The food is superb. The "house" is clean. Staff have gone above and beyond to help my mother who broke her leg. Super variety of activities and wonderful celebrations of holidays and anniversaries.
The staff are very fantastic, very friendly and helpful. They have been amazing in helping my grandmother with her broken leg. Very cosy atmosphere with great community and music. Activities are plentiful and the food is good. Overall, great experience.
I am very happy with the care that mum receives. The staff are constantly welcoming, attentive and kind. It is reassuring to know that everyone knows mum and is aware of her condition. It is lovely to see more activities taking place, the amount of thought and imagination going into these are amazing. The newsletters with photos and dates for future events are a welcome addition too. Decorations and furniture have been installed and up dated, making Winters Park more welcoming and homely.
Our mother has been looked after really well. She particularly likes taking part in all the activities. All the staff are very caring and fun.
Since the Entertainment Coordinator came to Winters Park my mother has been much happier with all the entertainment available, she loves to play bingo and enjoys music and watching everyone join in with singing etc. All the staff are lovely and very caring.
Staff are so caring, friendly, and the accommodation is clean and fresh and my mum is so happy here which means everything.
We were delighted with the respite care provided for my Mother-in-law. This is our first experience of a care home and we think it provided all the support our family member needed following her operation. The food and beverages provided were super. The staff are very loving and really do treat the residents like family members. For many, it is a job but you see a real understanding of each resident's needs. We also felt part of the extended family which was lovely. If I could recommend two things - more frequent baths/showers and better-organised washing of clothes.
My mam moved into Winters Park Care Home in March 2023. The staff are very thoughtful and caring, as my mam's ability is very limited. She enjoys the food and the activities, especially bingo and the puzzle sheets. The laundry is well cared for.
I recently visited Winters Park Care Home, Penrith to provide entertainment with our ukulele group. We had such a lovely time that I wanted to share my experience. Every member of staff greeted us with a smile. They were all so positive, friendly and welcoming. I noticed how they treated every resident with kindness and respect. The whole place has a happy vibe and they even have a resident dog, Vinny. He was extremely well trained and calm. I think he even enjoyed our music! I understand the food is very good here, so all in all, I left with a very positive feeling about Winters Park and look forward to visiting again soon.
What a friendly happy place! My friend was settled and happy on my visit, and I was impressed by the atmosphere and the care given by the staff. Nothing was too much trouble, I met the manager and staff who were all very helpful. Hopefully staying for lunch on my next visit as was offered by a lovely member of staff.
I visited a family friend for the first time in January 2023 and was so impressed with the home. The place was lovely, warm and welcoming, the residents all seemed happy and stimulated, and the staff were welcoming and engaging. My visit lasted about two hours, and in that time, we were offered refreshments, a game of table tennis, took part in a quiz and were shown around by our friend and the staff. I was particularly impressed with the homely feel of my friend's en-suite room and the attention to detail; the colouring pencils on offer were good quality and sharp! It is these things that make a difference in the quality of life for our most vulnerable. I only wish my own mother-in-law had had the same experience for the last 18 months of her life recently. This is a great example of how the care sector should be! Looking forward to visiting again.
Whilst my gran was at Winters Park the staff always treated her with great respect and dignity. All staff were always kind. The food always looked delicious. The manager and admin were always happy to help.
