View Full Details of Ann Charlton LodgeRecently, I found myself in an emergency situation where I needed residential care. I was fortunate enough to have a home visit from the manager of Ann Charlton Lodge in Redcar to assess my needs. Within an hour of her visit, not only was transportation arranged with a lovely driver, who took me to my very nice room with a beautiful garden view, but I was also very impressed by how all the staff in the home treated everyone with dignity and respect at all times. Although my stay was only eight days, I would happily stay there again. Transportation was also arranged for going back home, again with another kind, helpful driver. Thank you to all staff at Ann Charlton Lodge.
My brother in Law was admitted into Ann Charlton Lodge on 22nd July 2025. The care he has received since he arrived has been absolutely outstanding, the staff are extremely kind, caring and considerate, nothing at all is too much trouble and they always go above and beyond for my brother in law and all their other residents. We as a family could not have found a better care home and feel very safe in the knowledge that he is in the best hands, particularly as there is Nursing staff on 24 hours a day. We cannot thank the manager and her Team enough, Thank you all :-)
My brother's 25th year of residency and family celebration. All the staff were absolutely lovely and made us (20 family members) feel very welcome and at ease. Carers had done a marvellous job of setting the decorations out and the kitchen staff provided a delicious buffet. We might go back every month. Haha.
Everytime I visit my uncle I the lodge it's a wonderful place. Clean and friendly. The rooms are lovely and the communal spaces nice and welcoming. The garden area is well kept and perfect to sit in.
I am happy my son is in this home not least because there are nurses on duty, he needed medical help, I feel his needs are being met. His laundry is done and he is dressed appropriately. He, I am told, sleeps soundly through the night. he takes turns in visiting different establishments for coffee, he had his birthday today, the kitchen got a cake for him, the staff made a fuss of him. I doubt this would happen in another care home. More importantly this care home keeps me updated if he needs anything.
Ann Charlton Lodge has been my daughter's home for 11 years now. I have nothing but praise for the nurses & staff. They always make us feel welcome when we visit. Our daughter is cared for with dignity & love. You can't ask for much more!
Ann Charlton Lodge is a fabulous home for many different people with different illnesses. It's home from home. The staff are absolutely magnificent and always go the extra mile for patients and family. Can't recommend it enough.
The staff and residents are all nice, polite and welcoming.
My Wife has Brain injury/dementia and has only been here since June 2024, she is well looked after here and I wouldn't like her to be anywhere else, the staff treat her as one of the family, with care and kindness, myself and my family are very grateful for the wonderful work that they do for my wife.
My husband came here 22.11.22. Very poorly and unsettled. He was in hospital 10 months from brain injury due to cardiac arrest. He was a very fit man before so very hard for him. But this care home has helped him very much. I would not wish for him to go anywhere else. It's like one happy family for him and myself. They provide all his needs with no problem while I myself can go home with peace of mind.
Very happy with the love and care my brother has received for the last 6 years, the staff all round are excellent and he is always safe, secure and supported.
My wife was admitted into this care home following a brain injury due to prolonged heart failure in February 2021. With the care, friendship, and encouragement of all of the wonderful staff she has now been able to return home to continue her rehabilitation. During her stay, on my many visits, the staff also treated me with the utmost kindness and made sure there was always a cup of tea and food available for me. I can only say thank you to them for giving my wife back to me.
Our family was impressed by the atmosphere of Ann Charlton Lodge and we were grateful when our son was accepted as a patient in 2008. What distinguished The Lodge from other homes we visited was the community feeling - a feeling of tolerance and friendliness which seemed to emanate from the enormous central room. The absence of 'corridors' and the comfort of the individual rooms added to its attractions, as did the caring attitude of all the staff. Our views have not changed over the years.
